And not just voice actors. I want to break into the world of acting, and I've decided to save up and take acting lessons.
Any other actors/aspiring actors on here?
Any tips for other actors?
Any experiences you'd like to share?
What is it about acting which you really enjoy?

I've taken a few acting classes if it counts. :P

Try to be in the moment when acting and don't think. Just try to stay in character the whole time. If you aren't thinking, you tend to lines a bit better and less likely to be off beat.

Yea, just be loud.

I don't really like it but did the classes anyways.

I acted in a local play when I was 10. I played an alien who, along with a country girl, was trying to experiance the joys of coming to earth. Despite my notoriously horrendous memory, I was still able to memorize 10 pages of lines through out the whole play. Back then I wanted to be a famous actor. I'm glad age has taught me well.
ah... good ol days.

Is there no one on here that truly enjoys acting or has tried to pursue it in the past? I understand that it's a lot of freaking work, and very exhausting, but I think it'd be fun, and I think I'd be good at it.
I want to become a famous and wealthy film/tv actor. I just don't have the cash saved up to pursue acting as a lucrative career option. I want to move to LA, take classes, make connections and audition for parts, and hopefully make a living out of it.
It seems hard having to commit to a role, tho, while juggling a day job. I dunno how they do it, or work it into their schedules, lol.

I am an actor I have acted in Stage performances, Murder Mystery's, Inprov, collage short film. I would love to get big as everyone else would but for now with family and work I take the stage to be my home. Only problem I have is that lack of serious theater plays that they do, to many musicals.

I have acting class and I'm pretty good at it. I think acting is pretty cool because you get to create a character within yourself.

What advice would you give to someone like myself who has no experience? My main hurtle is I live in a small ass town in the california serria mountains, with nothing here. Sure, Reno, NV is about an hour and a half away, but that's a long commute.
I don't have the cash yet(i work at subway) to get lessons, and I'm not sure what to audition for starting out. Should I audition for commercials, and would theatre necessarily get me anywhere in film or television? Should I take classes and then audition, or audition while I'm taking classes?
In short: I don't know where to begin, and how to get roles if I have no experience.(then again, i could always research it, but asking you is easier, lol)

I'm a voice actor, I'm trying to become an actor too. I would get involved in acting classes if I could, but there isn't anything I can do during the school year.
I don't think I'd suffer without them though, having voice acted for a few years.

Many great actors started out on the stage. It is a great place to learn and mold your acting style. There is more than likely a community theater in or around your town. See when they have a play and go audition.
Having never acted before your best bet is Theater, because Media requires that you know what your doing. You need to learn and Theater is a perfect place to do so. You need to think how you are going to act? Are you a Method Actor?
I love the stage, doing a performance in front of hundreds of people and delivering a character so real that you pull them in. Make they feel what your character feels, make them care about them. Its a rush and is also fantastic training. You fuck up on stage you have to pull it together and fix it, make it look not obvious. Someone forgets there lines you have to Improv till they are back on course. Its a great experience and if you truly want to become an actor then the stage is where to start.
