The main title from the Ortus video on the Ortus Kickstarter (wahoo!) converted into a painting with a neat little program called the Dynamic Auto Painter I've recently fallen in love with and modified in Photoshop...

Full version here.

I decided against uploading this to the portal directly because of the "must be your own original work" rule.

If you have any critique, feel free to give it... or else just download and apply as desktop. :P

So it's just a filter?

That's also in the art forum rules.

Taking someone else's art and applying a few filters to it doesn't make it your own. You would need to trace it and recolor it completely! Just ask Occluded!! (wait, don't! ...no one should have to die that way!)

Hey now, I did ask Jazza... If you're against supporting someone else's project when one clearly does not take credit for it, then that's a far different thing than stealing someone else's original work and saying "I made it"; I clearly gave credit, which is part 1... part 2 is asking the original author/owner, which I did and he pretty much said the concept of running it through DAP and putting it around would be cool.

With regards to the program, it isn't "just a filter"... it literally takes the image and generates it from scratch through a series of highly controllable algorithms with extensive user input with regards to the extent of the painting process. If the input is a map, the output is the terrain.

Key word there being "IT" ...you did nothing.

I think everyone here supports Jazza and all of his endeavors... but I doubt this was what he had in mind when he said putting it around would be cool... and even if it was... art forum rules still apply. Sorry.
