4.09 / 5.00 12,195 ViewsI decided to make a Madness Flash for Madness Day (where I ignorantly thought I could finish a very decent animation in two days) and now I am very late. However I'm still working on it (because I got nothing else to do, ololololol).
So here I am working on my piece of shit animation when, oh hey, I forgot the preloader! Let's go grab that piss-old 2007 preloader! So I go to Krinkels' fanart section and grab that. Imported the file onto Flash, and followed the instructions, which said to copy the first frame and put it onto the first frame of my animation. I think to myself, 'oh that's nice! Now I can just copy and paste that and get working on that next scene!'
After finishing up thirty frames or so, I decide to save, but first, I test it, just in case.
What's this? My preloader isn't working? Huh? It skips the preloader like it was a regular frame, not waiting for the flash to load and then displaying the play button. I did what it told me to do on the instructions, but it just won't work!
I use Adobe Flash CS3 Professional (ironically, since this is actually the only animation I've ever worked on). If there's a problem with the script, I hope you have a spare one handy, because I can NOT script (I can't even make the premade scripts work).
Yeah, anyway, that's the deal. I sound like a complete retard for posing such a stupid problem like this, don't I? Haha... Ugh.
It would be helpful if you linked to the preloader you used. It should have a stop(); action in it. If not, you would need to add one.
"Why do you hide, stupid aliens? Mr. Zurkon only wishes for to kill you."
are you sure you're using the right actionscript level? The preloader might be coded in AS2 and you might have a file open in AS3
Sig made by me
Once again i'm falling down a mountain like a metaphor

I converted it to a .FLA by importing it to the stage. I also tried the stop(); action in it, but it stoped the movie entirely and prevented it from actually showing the (PROCEED) button and letting the video play.
