I honestly don't know if I am an anime fan, I am just a big fan of a few anime such as Death Note and DBZ and not a fan of anime as a whole. Also, the "popular" kids like a lot of the stuff the "anti-social" kids do. They just don't let on.

I don't really get the stereotype. I mean, I have a bunch of friends. Some of my friends like anime and some of them don't. Even though I'm obsessed with the stuff, I don't constantly talk about it or anything, but I know some people are really fucking annoying with that shit. Most of these people are what us hardcore, real otakus like to call, "n00bs," or, "shitty, annoying, asshole bitches". They like to perpetuate these stereotypes, obliviously causing harm to the entire sub culture.

I think people call these people, "weeaboos". I abhor the term, though. It's extremely offensive and degrading.

I know that not all anime fans are total losers who only live in their house/apartment, who only watch anime and read manga every day. I don't really get a lot of time to watch anime, especially during football and hockey season, so I tend to only either watch the "popular" anime, or anything that has gore, mechs and/or boobs everywhere. {yeah I know, I'm shallow like that.}

With that said, I'm not really a social person, even though I do have some friends that I hang out with from time to time, that's a personal choice on my part.

I was going to go on a long rant, but I realize I can simply state the following sentence to make my point.

Why should you care? Fuck them. If they really care enough then proceed to rape them hard about their hobbies.

Some people play sports.
Some people play games, or watch movies.
Some people have interests in opera, music, etc.
Some people watch anime, read manga.

ITS HOBBIES PEOPLE!

Hadoken! I already knew that. In fact, to break the stereotype, nerds enjoy, AND get more sex that jocks. They are also more likely to have a stable long lasting relationship.

I'm an anime fan... I suppose. I happen to like cartoons... and Japan happens to pump out a large amount of good ones.

If the shows came from any other country, I would like them just as much...

I don't scream it to the heavens either. If someone asks "You like anime?" I'll say "Yeah", If they never ask, they will never find out.
