I need a comic for my story in the school newspaper, and our "cartoonist" sucks absolute ass and I don't want her shit anywhere near my story, so I thought I'd find an artist that could actually draw to make me a comic I could use.

The editorial is arguing that its hypocritical for atheist organizations to openly attack religious groups, Christians especially, while at the same time complaining that religious people are "shoving their beliefs down our throat!" and trying to convey some faux air of intellectual superiority by convincing themselves that all religious people are morons deluded by some lie.

Basically, I need a small, funny editorial cartoon that depicts this, and whoever draws the best one I'll buy a $20 steam game for.

As long as it fits the space of one panel you can do more, but one would probably be best.

Color is alright, but it'll be printed in black and white. I really like it though.

Also the newspaper is written for highschool students, so maybe if the message were a little less cryptic.

Oh please. I love the fact that you complain about hypocrisy, but don't even realize that by making this topic, you are just as hypocritical as either party.

It isn't as simple as hypocrisy though. Atheism hardly tries to shove their beliefs down peoples throats. They typically ask what reason there is to believe in a God. I know plenty of atheists. They are great. You know why? Because they don't try to shove a stupid religion down your throat. Because they don't have a stupid religion, and thus don't need to talk about it.

And this is coming from a non-atheist. So here, have a cartoon.

Preferably one panel, but you can do it in whatever style you think is best.

It's an editorial, meaning the staff comes up with an idea and they vote on it, and it's a school assignment that my editor said I had to do. So basically I have no choice but to write it on the aforementioned topic, and I plan on doing it to the best of my ability regardless of my own beliefs.

Haha, I just knew someone would speak up against this. I couldn't disagree more with the editorial, which is why I won't contribute. I have some principles. But, seriously, come on. Threadstarter came with an request, there's payment involved, it's not that hard to just DON'T DO IT if you feel that it doesn't suit your own personal beliefs.

you don't agree that atheists should stop running their mouths about other peoples religions? Or are you just programmed to think that paragraph was directed completely at you and your beliefs. -_- like seriously, who doesn't think that? (besides those select atheists) I imagine even the reasonable atheists look at THESE atheists like "dude, shut up man, you're gonna ruin it for us!" I've always wanted to draw this, and now that I might be getting paid for it is quite the bonus.

Of course people are going to mention it. I had no desire to do it, though I did want to share some perspective on it myself. As much as the OP didn't intend to, he should at least be aware that what he is doing stands upon the very lines of what he is standing against. Simply making a comic about such a topic comes into a touchy zone, that in most cases shouldn't be touched.

As such though, I feel as if I owe an apology to the OP. I am not here to mock you, or challenge your beliefs, and I am sorry if I have offended you.

I'm a she, and it's alright if you assumed the paper was my opinion. It isn't my opinion, and I accept your apology. ^-^

Honestly though, don't really care if there's a god or not, I don't really care if radical atheists make atheists look crazy or radical Christians make Christians look crazy. I don't subscribe to any real group because I can't claim to have an answer. This is a school assignment that the newspaper staff, most all of them raised in the Bible-belt conservative south, voted on.

No, I don't agree with it. But that's not the point. I was telling people not to turn this into a debate about religion regardless of their beliefs. I'm not quite sure why you are attacking me here?
