What are some nicknames for the region you live?

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Well, kinda north of it, occasionally it gets included as part of the SF Bay Area but it's more remote from the Bay Area cities. But it's still kinda Bay Area-ish.

I live in NorCal which is the shortened name for "Northern California."

The Bay Area gets called things like The Yay Area, or simply The Yay. My city is Santa Rosa and some call it "Tha Rose" and San Francisco gets called "Frisco" or inevitably "San Fran" a lot, and Oakland sometimes gets called Oaktown, The O, or The Big O. I think the Yay is my favorite among those nicknames!

Well yes there are certainly many Mexicans in LA, but so is everywhere else in SoCal and NorCal.

hahaah I don't know man any name that references the tremendous power and scope of a star is pretty impressive.NorCal does have a nice ring to it though I'll admit.

I live in Gloucestershire, UK. There's not many nicknames, but it's often refereed too as "farmer country" and "out in the countryside". Whilst it's true there are a few fields and if you drive about 10 miles away there is quite a nice countryside, it's not as empty and rural as it's made out to be. I live just outside Cheltenham which is often referred to as outsiders as "posh", but in reality there are only very few areas that are. There are chavs everywhere most of the time, and the village I live in is pretty normal looking.
