I'm sure most of us have seen the documentary movie Super Size Me. About a guy who eats nothing but McDonalds for 30 days straight and after that sees how it turned him into a complete fat Mc fatty. and along the way makes points how it's all unhealthy and destroying our waistlines. So just gonna jump to the end to the movie he gains weight becomes unhealthy and yeah yeah....
Well guess what? It's all bullshit. Ever heard of the documentary called Fat Head? It' s about a guy who goes on a fast food diet and surprisingly loses weight and ends up being actually healthy. But how did this happen you might ask? Well here are some facts straight from the site:
There's never been a single study that proves saturated fat causes heart disease.
As heart-disease rates were skyrocketing in the mid-1900s, consumption of animal fat was going down, not up. Consumption of vegetable oils, however, was going up dramatically.
Half of all heart-attack victims have normal or low cholesterol. Autopsies performed on heart-attack victims routinely reveal plaque-filled arteries in people whose cholesterol was low (as low as 115 in one case).
Asian Indians - half of whom are vegetarians - have one of the highest rates of heart disease in the entire world. Yup, that fatty meat will kill you, all right.
When Morgan Spurlock tells you that a McDonald's salad supplies almost a day's allowance of fat, he's basing that statement on the FDA's low-fat/high-carbohydrate dietary guidelines, which in turn are based on ... absolutely nothing. There's no science behind those guidelines; they were simply made up by a congressional committee.
Kids who were diagnosed as suffering from ADD have been successfully treated by re-introducing natural saturated fats into their diets. Your brain is made largely of fat.
Many epileptics have reduced or eliminated seizures by adopting a diet low in sugar and starch and high in saturated animal fats.
Despite everything you've heard about saturated fat being linked to cancer, that link is statistically weak. However, there is a strong link between sugar and cancer. In Europe, doctors tell patients, "Sugar feeds cancer."
Being fat is not, in and of itself, bad for your health. The behaviors that can make you fat - eating excess sugar and starch, not getting any exercise - can also ruin your health, and that's why being fat is associated with bad health. But it's entirely possible to be fat and healthy. It's also possible to be thin while developing Type II diabetes and heart disease.
Saturated fat and cholesterol help produce testosterone. When men limit their saturated fat, their testosterone level drops. So, regardless of what a famous vegan chef believes, saturated fat does not impair sexual performance.
I strongly recommend watching this film as it makes so much since to how America became so unhealthy and over weight and he basically calls bullshit on everything Super Size Me claims. If you have netflix you can watch it instantly.
Here's a clip that explains to why you gain weight.
We're meat and that's it. So lets fuck it, fuck it, fuck it.

It is a weak argument to play the saturated fat cars and denounce the rest of the facts. However, it was an anti-fast-food documentary, so it is predictably skewed.

I don't think it was weight they were going for, it was his general health. And his liver was struggling for survival. The movie didn't lie at all, and I don't know anyone in the medical field who would say that garbage is actually good for you.

Well you haven't seen Fat Head so you really don't know that the guy actually came out healthier after the movie. When it all comes down to gaining weight its not fat or saturated it's the carbs and sugar. Ever heard of the Atkins Diet? Where you eat nothing but food that has fat and saturated fats and consuming very little carbs. Low fat diets are bullshit.
We're meat and that's it. So lets fuck it, fuck it, fuck it.

Oh well yeah I agree with you on the fat nonsense, but in terms of attacking "Supersize Me" I think your reasoning is skewed. I haven't seen "Fat Head" though, so I can't make a fair judgement of it. But, in all other studies about fast food, it is almost unanimous amongst the researchers that it is bad for you.

This is an interesting thread...
I don't know...I'm still inclined to believe that saturated fat is not very beneficial to the human body in large amounts, but apparently some notable scientists have contended that it's not harmful to the body at all.
It makes me wonder how scientists have reached a consensus on the matter if the evidence is supposedly weak. Not to say that you're wrong about this, but I do find this interesting.
It wouldn't be the first time that science has reached an incorrect consensus.

I don't think that saturated fat is all that good for you, but I doubt that it is the horror on your body that some people make it out to be.

But there seems to be many studies conducted regarding saturated fat that contradict the consensus reached by many health organizations around the world.
I think it would be worth some looking into if we've been told all of our lives that saturated fat was detrimental to the body, but that there exists at least several studies that contradict this contention.

So...wait.
You're telling me that you DON'T believe that one documentary told the truth, and yet the other one is unquestionably, indisputably, truthful? That makes little to no sense.
Both of the movies have valid points and you should base your opinion off of a single source because most sources are biased. Collect information. Don't take the easy route and side with a single point of view, because then all you'll be doing is spreading biased opinion.
And no one wants that.

Fast food also has a shitload of salt, which increases blood pressure and worsens acne, among other things.

Saturated fat was blamed for heart disease before trans fat was discovered only a few years ago.

It makes sense. You're just stupid. Super Size Me has very little valid facts compared to Fat Head. All Super Size Me is is a movie trying to blame McDonalds for making everyone unhealthy. The only valid point Super Size Me has is you shouldn't eat fast food so much.
We're meat and that's it. So lets fuck it, fuck it, fuck it.
