I've known my friend Jade for about five years. She is one of my closest friends. I met her boyfriend Patrick about a year ago. We became friends a few monthes ago and I consider him closer than jade ever was. I learned that their relationship is terrible. She cheated on him last year and promised she never would again. Last Monday I overheard a conversation with one of Jades friends that she cheated on him again. I haven't told Patrick. A guy sent Jade a note saying he will kill himself I she dosn't break up with Patrick and go out with him. If I ever see him outside my classes I'm kicking his suicidle ass. Patrick finnaly broke up with Jade today and She burst into tears and he just left the room. She states that all the drama is all his fault. When everyone in the room heard, even the people that barley know her or the situation took her side. Her friend said she is going to fight him next time she sees him. She said she is tired of men.
I'm taking the side of a guy I've been friends for less than a year over one of my oldest friends. Is my decision right? Should I tell him that she cheated on him. I had to get this off my chest. Anyone have anything to say?

You can still defend your buddy, Patrick. Fighting by his side shouldn't mess anything up with Jade. But since you should probably tell him about the cheating, she might be upset about that. Don't let your friend get beat up for something he doesn't deserve to get beat up for.

According to your side of the story, everybody takes the side of the person who is visibly more upset than the one who had any real hamr done to him.
