lets refine that a bit - it you make either of thsoe genres for the majority of your music - don't submit one of those genres for this contest please. I wanna test your diversity, not what you are comfortable with :)

that goes for any genre you make the most - try something new!

I'm sorry, but you're rules are too subjective, you need to stop leaving out a genre just because YOu don't want to hear it....

I posted my submission. It's inspired by an experience I had while smoking some crazy shit that really fucked me up for like 2 days. The trip itself lasted like an hour in real time, but to me it felt like an immeasurable amount of time. Then after I came out of it, I had a strange and paranoid sensation for 2 fucking days. Anyways, this song is kind of a musical interpretation of that horrifying experience with an unknown drug.

I wasn't too crazy about last month's creepy theme, but I think I'd have a lot of fun with this one. I'll probably whip something up!

Dude, when I think drugs and music the only thing I think of is dubstep. I mean, the word DUB is in it man. You can roll a jay with a dub. Dubstep is rave music. Have you ever done acid and gone to a rave? Oh damn. I forgot. You have absolutely no idea what drugs feel like.

I sense a hint of bias.

And on that note, have some Drum Step.

Except it means drum, and it's more like most popular music from the 1930's onward with a major shift in the 60's. I'm not hearing any 'acid' influence coming from you user. I'm sorry.

I'm not - I am simply saying that a lot of people make those genres and I don't want to see the majority of submissions be THAT genre as a result - I sense a lack of genre diversity sometimes - thus this way if everyone who submits is a dubstep of dnb user, it will thin out how many of those genres get submitted and allow others to shine through.

I am not leaving out a genre - I am allowing room for diversity. You are still allowed to submit dnb and dubstep - I just don't want to see every blasted submission as dnb and dubstep.

Thanks.

it seems there is always one who blows up over the criteria.

then perhaps you need to diversify the drugs you consider - there are tons of drugs out there - not just "dance" drugs. There are happy drugs, hard drugs, drugs that made the majority of the 70s music, think outside the box!

Chron, the issue is the fact that you don't seem to have much experience with drugs. So you may want to leave the majority of the judging to people with more experience. I like the idea, but it needs more backing.

Hmm well from personal experience lets see:

Acid - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
Ecstasy - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
Shrooms - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
Heroin - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
Marijuana - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
2C's - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
Mescalin - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
Spice (fake weed) - makes dubstep sound amazing and trippy
Ketamine - makes dubstep sound amazing if you realizing its playing

what am I missing? i got both the diversity and the experience to say that dubstep is definitely a druggie genre. So is just about any type of music. It being trippy is all about the detail in the subtleties of the piece, not the genre.

Why does it matter..? I'm not sure he's really meaning to advertise...why would he need to? All the people posting here have probably checked the submission thread, and honestly, who would bother going all the way to that topic to click the link to a song that he discussed here?

It only makes sense that he would again post it here. Don't cling so tightly to the tit that is NGBBS rules. There are plenty of scenarios where it is necessary, but petty things (such as this situation) are completely useless to respond to with rules. Almost seems like you're taking advantage of the rules to get +1..?

let alone the fact you completely ignored his actual discussion

To not be hypocritical:
OrphenFire, I can totally visualize some sort of drug-induced state with that song. Everything around being terrifying and unwanted. Good luck in the competition :)
