Minecraft Sound

I cant get the sound in minecraft to work i put the sound options all the way to 100 and it still dosen't work!
F3+S doesn't work, turning the internet off doesn't work!
Please Help

What kind of headphones do you have? I've had problems with sound adjusting to and from USB headsets in the past, and that might be it.
