Man, I feel bad for Fat Beats. Everyone's talking about how he had no emotion or anything in his recording, but I thought it was fairly apparent he's more of a grime rapper than hip hop rapper. I guess grime really doesn't translate across the Atlantic for most people
I thought he did great. He had plenty enough emotion in his vox, it was the other guy who flopped on emotion. When his lines came through I just wanted to stop listening, y'know? It sounded like he was mad sleepy or some shit so I had to laugh when he said there was no emotion in FatBeats' set.
I'm not a hip hop rapper either. Rap=/=hip hop, though.
It also saddened me to see people factoring into their scores that they couldn't understand TehSlapHappy clearly enough. This is the kind of bullshit I hate seeing, because it really shouldn't matter if you can understand them or not, that's your handicap. Same goes to the opposite battler. If you can't understand them, please just stop and think for three seconds and then maybe slow the track down if you're having that much of an issue. I could understand FatBeats fine and I could understand TehSlapHappy fine, so do the contestants a favor and listen to it until you come to grips with what they're saying.
