4.02 / 5.00 45,648 ViewsI just finished Mirror's Edge. Good game. But the final boss fight and ending was straight out bullshit. It doesn't even deserve to be called a fight. I flipped off my screen. Seriously.
So what endings have pissed you off or were just plain weak?

Homefront (because that game didn't already suck hard enough amirite). After the final cutscene you get placed right back in the final battle, as if it never happened. Beat it as many times as you want, you aren't getting anywhere. You won't even get an achievement.
The last level in Black Ops. Yeah yeah, I know, "You actually play CoD's story?! LOL U IDIOT" and all that. But I generally thought the campaign was okay. But the ending was just pure bull and soured the entire experience. Last scene was very anticlimactic and lasts a few seconds before jumping to credits with lame music. Meh.
Halo 2...
master chief was all"maaawwm,I'll feenish fight laterz"

If you try playing through without using weapons, it could be a challenge getting through the snipers and the server room. There was no end fight, but I like how it's executed; filled with impact.

Really? I thought Black Ops ending was cool. Nice twist. Anyone who thinks playing the campaign is stupid can suck my dick and go back online where you're only friends are.
the ending of Ocarina of Time pissed off because it's like it undid everything link did in the future.
Rage...you get a big gun and you never even get to use it properly. No final boss fight, just a plain cutscene. Might I add, when the credits finish rolling you do not get an option to playthrough a 2nd time but rather you come back to the ending once again.
LoZ: Twilight Princess also had an annoying ending.
Mafia 2 had the worst ending a game could offer, yeah the game is in my top 10 list but the ending and last chapter just make me want to puke. I thought their going to pull a nice ending like what they did in Mafia 1 but no they had to ruin it.

I agree with this one, a totally wtf twist which didn't make sence to me. The campaign itself was beautiful though.
It's impossible to use the bathroom in Denton's house, as not even his toilet paper takes shit from anyone.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution- a boss fight that felt more like an interactive cutscene then endings decided by what button you pushed.
For now, it would be Assassin's Creed Brotherhood :((
I don't think anyone will argue with me when I say that Force Unleashed 2's ending was a steaming pile of bullshit.

Banjo Tooie had a pretty lame ending. It was even literally admitted that the creators couldn't come up with anything good. Fortunately it isn't such a serious game anyway, so it wasn't like it really ruined the entire game.

I actually rather liked that one. I think the idea is more like that Link "secured" the future. As in that him defeating Ganondorf IS going to happen. You know, destiny and stuff, which is kind of a big topic in the game.

Yeah that ending felt kinda rushed. I actually felt that the entire game from the Twilight Palace dungeon onwards was rushed.

This.
I was disappointed to find out that there was no second playthrough or anything else to do after you finished the game. What sucks is that there was no final boss to kill and that the game was only about 10 hours long (from two playthroughs that I've done)
Assassin's Creed 2.
I just sat there staring at the screen with my mouth open.
Shadowman for the N64 (going back in time here) was pretty disappointing. The entire ending lasted for maybe 30 seconds and they didn't even bother to program it so the Title music ran thru all the credits. So all you would hear while the credits scrolled would be zombies moaning in the first area of the game. It looked rushed to me.
Excuse me, I'm looking for a car that's been tricked out to look like an ice cream truck.
I could use a strapping young man to do some chores around the house!
AHHH! JACKPOT!

Very much this. Normally when I play a game, I can tell when I'm about to beat it, but the ending to Rage just sorta happened. Plus not being able to go back kinda pissed me off. I want to collect more cards, finish more side jobs, but I don't have a save where I can do that.
It felt like "Yeah this game is getting pretty intense now, all these authority cars, new mutants, big new gun, lol jk that's it you're done"
The ending to the Fallout games, because you can't keep playing after it's over.
Guys, guys, guys... come on... you're all wrong.
Rampage for the NES. All you got was "Congratulations" and a credit roll after HOURS and HOURS of painful, repetitive gameplay that couldn't be stopped. The stuff you guys are talking about is Heaven in comparison to that.

save the game right before, and in fallout 2 I do believe you can continue playing. Plus broken steel for fallout 3. IMO Fallout games have the best endings because they reflect on everything you do. Just look at all the possible endings for New vegas.

I actually played all the levels in Rampage: World Tour and played the space level on Midway Arcade Treasures 2 for the PS2.

What did you not like about it? The twist at the end was amazing.

The Black Ops twist mentioned earlier in this thread really killed the game for me. I bought CoD:BO for the story only. I really enjoyed the game and the story, but the twist was just so fucking stupid that I didn't care for the last 2-3 levels. I have not played BO since...
Also WTF is up with the ending of Heavy Rain?! It's different each time I play! (trololol)

Yep, I'd rather not have any closure in my story-heavy games. It's not like I can reload my last save to finish up any side quests I might have missed.
That being said, Fallout 3 did have a terrible ending. How they managed to fuck up the simple concept of ending slides is beyond me.
Come to think of it, the ending of Oblivion was pretty shit too. There wasn't a climactic boss fight or anything, and all you got for beating the main quest was a sorta shitty set of armour.

What didn't you like about it? It may not have been perfectly executed, but I appreciate how they tried to show the brutality and reality of mob life with the abrupt ending that purposefully had no closure.
Mafia 2 actually has a couple of really great moments (a particularly vicious death scene comes to mind).

Fable II.
And they keep going downhill.
There was a nonexistent final boss battle. It ended with dialogue. And you got to choose lame awards. Even the evil ending. Really? A million gold? Wow! That's grand! Never mind I can make a million gold easy with rent! The best award was the neutral one, just so you can get your dog back. And the final one, that's probably the most interesting, was the good so you could get a statue ... though, you can get statues in Oakfield, regardless.
Fable III also had a disappointing boss fight, but at least the ending was slightly better.
Jade Cocoon was pretty cool and had a great ending and all. But it leaves you in a trapped feeling with the endless corridor. Can't go back and see your old village. So, that's pretty bad too and I consider that a bad ending.
