This usually seems to work, but at the same time you'll feel bad for staying up even later.
My preferred way of dealing with insomnia is to lay completely flat on my back, while my face pointed towards the ceiling. If you start getting tired or you're uncomfortable, tilt your head. Also, you could be overheating. Make sure you don't have too many blankets.
That's all my advice for you. Just saying, warm milk doesn't do anything.
