Organizing collabs in forum threads can be tough. Simple things, like keeping track of who's joined, sharing files with the group, and knowing what everyone's working on can be unnecessarily complicated. Leaders have too much work to do. Artists don't get the feedback they want on their submissions. Threads go on for dozens of pages, hundreds of replies, making it hard to keep up.
We designed Pipeline, our new software for organizing awesome collabs, to make things easier. You can start or join a collab, invite members, lead and contribute to tasks, share files, have discussions, and more. There is a news feed for seeing exactly what everyone is doing in your collab. It's all 100% free and you can sign up right now.
Who are "we"? We're computer science researchers at Georgia Tech. I'm Kurt, the lead developer for Pipeline and a former Newgrounds intern (summer '09).
CONTEST
We need more beta testers for Pipeline and we have a new contest to reward you for your help. We're giving away $300 in NG store credit or Amazon.com gift cards to the winners. The prizes work like this:
* The first three people to create a collab on Pipeline that gets finished will win $50 each.
* The three most active members of those collabs will also win $50 each.
That's $50 each for six people, or $300 total.
RULES
* Contest ends in two weeks (November 7, 2011). If you don't make the deadline, you can still finish your collab, but you won't win a prize.
* A collab is considered finished if it has been submitted to Newgrounds and passes judgment. Don't rush your collab just to win the contest. If it's blammed, you don't win.
* You can start a new collab or move an existing collab to Pipeline, but to win the prizes you must do a substantial amount of work using Pipeline.
* One $50 prize per person. If you qualify for multiple prizes, you get the first one and the #2 person gets the other.
Thanks for giving Pipeline a try! Feel free to post here or email us (pipeline@cc.gatech.edu) with any questions. Please invite anyone else who might be interested.
