I was severely disappointed. I was a huge fan of the first one, because it didn't have any jump scares. It relied on your psychology to do the work, it really got in your head. That's why I liked marble hornets so much. This new one was absolute crap. It had far too many jump scares, and at one point it seems as though all it could count on were jump scares.
It was far less subtle, it did things that made it feel like a generic horror movie. Things like shit popping out at you but it turned out it was just the jackass wife pulling a prank on the paranoid husband.

Plus, the movie is suppose to feel like a "home video," but C'mon, it takes place in the 80's, you telling me there were HD widescreen video cameras in the 80's? Bullshit. And whats with all the royalty free sound effects? Fuck this movie.

You didn't see that coming? All of the Paranormal Activity movies sucked. What was in the last 15 minutes that was supposed to "Mess you up for life"?

I don't see how anybody could like any of the Paranormal Activity movies.

Then again, horror movies usually just make me laugh due to the cheesyness and whatnot.

Yeah, this one was a total disappointment. It wasn't so much scary as it was "cool". They're catering to the traditional horror movie crowd - and I have no idea why.

I have no idea what you mean by "Mess you up for life" this one didn't do shit. The end gave up entirely too much. For example in the end of PA1 you heard a loud scream downstairs, there was no camera downstairs so you were just left with your imagination. In this one you see friggin everything. It was stupid. Besides, PA movies are suppose to immerse you, you can't like it if you don't let the movie get into your head.
It was good because it felt realistic, like it could actually happen to you. You know, as opposed to an inbred hillbilly with a machete who lives in a lake.

Ah, okay. The commercial for it had quotations and it said "The last 15 minutes will mess you up for life" and then I promptly said "I don't give a fuck."

I agree. It's scarier when you don't see everything that's happening. It feels surreal. It builds mystery and makes the audience apart of the movie, leaving us to imagine what could have been happening down stairs.

I enjoy watching the first one. It had low budget and the scares had to be genuine. So I get why they call it a cult classic. The second was okay, I guess. Every sequel has to always go in the direction of being a huge budget movie but it still had the same atmosphere of the first one though had less mystery. I haven't seen the third one. Don't really want to since it follows the hollywood movie formula of making the third movie a shitty prequel. Why do horror movie series do that? We don't want a prequel. We don't need a prequel.

I haven't seen any but it was clear this would suck and they only continued making them after the first to further cash in.

I find movies like Paranormal Activity and the Blair Witch project far better than the common shitty horror movie that relies solely on gore.

These ones make your head do all the work for them, that's why they're good.

I didn't particularly like the first one, but I'm going to see this one since it has to be better than the normal ones.

i think he's saying that paranormal should not become a quadruple and final destination doesn't need a 90th installment

hopefully the saw creators are taking the hint that saw TEN wont work

but we all know that Hollywood is after quantity , not quality

Something told me PA3 was gonna suck dick...Probably because I didn't like the second one, and the 1st one didn't really do much for me (not to say it wasn't a good movie).

Does anybody even read these?

I wonder if movies like Paranormal Activity arent a reaction to the crapload of money that Blair Witch Project grossed. Spend very little money to make a film and turn it over for a huge profit

Excuse me, I'm looking for a car that's been tricked out to look like an ice cream truck. I could use a strapping young man to do some chores around the house! AHHH! JACKPOT!

C'mon man, You can't be talking about Jason (Friday the 13th) I hope. The gore/slasher movies are meant for entertainment, not suspense. Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Jason Voorhees, these were the grandfathers of horror, gotta show em a little respect. I grew up with these guys. Good people, don't talk much, but they handle business.

I did like the First PA, because little is more to me (old school style Hitchcock) but the ending should have been (SPOILER) the guy hitting the camera and it should've just ended. Her lunging at the camera killed the entire atmosphere they created. Just from the previews of the 3rd one, it seems too much. And the 2nd one was a "meh" movie, other than the kitchen scene where all the cabinets open.

Paranormal activity was a failure. Why did you expect the third to be a good film?

Movies based around gimmicks never turn out well. You shouldn't be surprised.
