Why the hell not? I've discovered games I never would have considered otherwise that way. I know I'd probably get frustrated by fighters that require mastery to enjoy online play and MMOs that rely on grinding to keep you playing for years, but they're still worth a shot. Keep an open mind and most games really aren't that bad.

Who's to say some of us didn't already try the genre's we now overlook? When I was younger I had this mentality, "ooh that cover looks cool let's play it!" I was to be really into Nintendo but then personal taste starts developing as you get older.

How to review like your opinion matters
Any sports or racing games, im more of a shooter games kind of person.
Some people already know this, but I'm not too partial of the Wii U next generation....another redundant installment of a Nintendo product.
PS Vita on the other hand looks great. It's an easy buy over the 3DS if I had to crunch money.
Call me old-fashioned but hell, I'll still buy a fighting game....racers have always only been okay in my book. Just cuz shooters are the It genre right now, doesn't mean that's the only games I'll endorse.
Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Call of Oh my god why do people still pay for this shit: Modern seriously we're putting the same game out as last time 3.
Really, the only game that interests me in the slightest that is coming out is the new Assassin's Creed, and I only expect that to be good at best.

It's not even fucking about bots.
It's a STEALTH game.

I literally have no interest in that game whatsoever.
I thought I was the only one. Just looks a bit boring to be honest, I never liked Oblivion and this just seems a bit slow and I can't be bothered to put the time into it.
I'm not really interested in Arkham City either to be honest.. I also don't like racing games and arcade fighters.
Call of duty, Gears of war, god of war.......the list goes on.....
Battlefield 3.
To be honest, I pass up on almost all FPS games. I just don't like them. But I enjoyed Resistance 1, it came with my PS3, so me and my wife played the coop campaign.

I played one and two, never going to buy them. They're horrible.
Plus, a ton of other games.
Pretty much this... Oh and Sports games....
Call of duty is the best game ever. You don't know what you are talking about

Any sports games and realistic racing games. RPG and FPS are mostly what I've played for the last few years but not exclusively. Lately I've been playing street fighter and melee a lot, I played them when I was a kid but I never would have thought they were anything more than button mashing back then.

You're not alone. I'm not excited for Skyrim at all. I tried Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, and within a week, I had already gotten bored of it and uninstalled it. The towns weren't interesting, the quests weren't intriguing, the dungeons all pretty much looked and felt the same, and everything just seemed so bland. While I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, which used a pretty similar map, exploration, and traveling system, Oblivion just didn't feel worth exploring. It felt far too much like an everyday MMO, but you're the only player online. I think I'd sooner return to playing the old Might and Magic games before playing Skyrim.
Don't pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.
I don't like FIFA , PES and the other football games.
I would pass up any Final Fantasy, even Final Fantasy 7 though I never played it. I played 10 and 12, 10 was ok and 12 sucked massive testicles. I'm sure it's a great series and 7 is as good as they say it is but not interested.
Also any sports games
XCOM, because i'm scared to death it's going to be terrible. Only other game that comes to mind is bioshock infinite, but even then I'll gamefly it, but I'm just an old fool wishing for a System Shock reboot.

Most modern games really, but mainly CoD and the ilk.
The Punisher on NES
I wouldn't play it if you PAIDED me to
Top of my list is Mass Effect. The first game was pretty decent in my opinion because I never played a game like it before. But ever since I played Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 2, the whole Mass Effect series just seemed SUPER shitty.
Also, I hate games that drag on the series TOO long. COD is a prime example. The game is just the same thing each time.
SSDD
Football, ice hockey, golf, boxing (okay maybe a little bit boxing...)... If it gotta be sports, gimme snowboarding, skating or wrestling.
Oh and Final Fantasy. God it looks like a bunch of crap.
