I can't find any audio submision of H-Cake. WHY WHY WHY! Newgrounds, I hope you didn't deleted his account! I love his music! I miss his delicate, emotional music! But it seem that he is not on newgrounds anymore. And I cant find him anyware else!

The problem is that it wasn't HIS music the one you heard on his profile, that's why he suddenly disappeared.

Long story short, he was a thief, someone found out, so he tucked tail and disappeared from the site.

I forgot to add , if you still want to download his music and if you remember the name of the song you wanted; have you tried searching on google??

Most popular newgrounds songs are hosted on file sharing sites like mediafire or zippyshare. I think you can find them there.

We know that hamstercake stole music from someone else , I still have a big admiration and respect for the person that actually made those tracks even though I don't know his/her name.

I knew he had been accused of stealing awhile back, but I never knew that proof was actually found.
I guess it explains how he completely mastered the genre of every NAC competition. (I mean, some artists can do that, but his were fucking perfect.)

I guess the only reason he wasn't caught quicker was because his music was really obscure.
Oh well, at least artists with real talent can actually win the competitions now.

On a side note, don't you win money (store credit) from NAC's? He must have amassed a lot.

Yhea.... I love the music, I just need to find the real artist so that I can get his collection. I tried searching for H-Cake and Hamstercake. But, I can't find any offical website or something. Only here on newgrounds, and youtube.

I hope he didn't change the names of the songs. Maybe I could use that to track down the real artist.

He did change names, he wasn't one of the extremely stupid thieves that makes it real easy to find the original authors.

I can't provide links to everything he stole, but he did steal the song Almese off of this album. So that can be a starting point for you.

Yeah, it just so happens that this one managed to make off with $200+ before he got caught. Which, frankly, is probably the worst part about this -- the fact that he stole other people's work and made money off of it...

well i might need some advice - -

i had always been a huge fan of his work - so much so, that i actually invented a few scenes to happen later on in my series TO a few of his songs.

i did download the songs, and still have them (and still want to use them in my series when the time comes)

i just assumed he pulled his songs to pursue a more professional career...

do you guys think its fine if i still use "his" music in my series?

@backfrompurgatory - perhaps you can help me allocate credit where it belongs?

Yeah I am not happy at all that he managed to win so many NACs, but without concrete proof at the time condemning someone because you THINK they have stolen music is just as bad.. so we had to give him the benefit of the doubt..

Afraid I can't help you, the only song I'm sure of the original author is the one linked above (Which HCake renamed Sky High, and is also the song that proved he's a thief). That song aside, I'm not sure of the origins of the other songs, save a couple being done with premade loops from a paid sampling site.

Yeah, here's a little hint: you're probably not going to get a response if you e-mail him, "Hey, you know those songs you stole? I really like them. Where can I find the originals?"

People like H-Cake who steal songs don't give a damn about the original artist. That's how they sink so low as to steal other people's intellectual property in the first place.

Damn man...it's good to get this finally cleared up though. So thanks for clarifying it.

It's such a shame to find that an artist who inspired others, myself included that his tracks were stolen. His sudden amazing improvement within months took me by shock, but i considered the fact he could be working with someone else's help, or took a course or something.

It's disappointing - but i'm completely disgusted by it too. People here work hard on their tracks, the majority of the dedicated forum users above to mention a few. And they compete fairly in competitions. But all i can say is that, at least he was found out as this could have easily went on much longer.
