I was reading in the Huffington post last month about how my U.S. state, North Carolina, was putting the question of homosexual marriage on the table for state congress.
Having thought about it once again, I decided to check the Huff to see if there was an update on the talks of homosexual marriage in North Carolina.
As it turns out, the state congress of North Carolina is opting to add an amendment in May of 2012 that would put a ban on all homosexual marriages and civil unions.
Ugh.
Why is it that we are in the year two-thousand and eleven, and we are still having social issues with such a thing as homosexual marriage?
I am really beginning to believe that it is all a religious matter. I just love some of the hack-job statistics/lies that some politicians are putting up against the name of homosexual unions.
As far as constitutional amendments are concern, this is really an issue that separates much of the nation and North Carolina.
This is coming from the same state that was one of the last states to ratify women's suffrage...in 1971.

As they say, ignorance is bliss.
North Carolina is full of overly-religious idiots. It's no surprise that the state would shoot for banning gay marriage. Give it a few years to a decade and that horse shit amendment will be repealed.

Were you really surprised? I sure as fuck wasn't. I couldn't care less either as I am not a homosexual or a North Carolinian. Why do they want to get married anyway? I heard everything goes downhill from there

The homosexual question is equivalent to the civil rights movement during the 50s and 60s. We are in the middle of it.

This is good news because I live in NC! Gay people have a mental problem. 2 males or 2 females obviously can't reproduce.

Because with nearly 7 billion people on Earth, the one thing we really need is more people.
Yeah, that totally makes sense.

A majority of states don't allow gay marriage and would rule the same way if the issue was brought up. Don't be ashamed of your state be ashamed of your country.

We will just have to wait for the Supreme Court to hopefully rule the ban unconstitutional.

Man, I wish that's all I had to complain about regarding my home state.
Try living in California for a little while. This place is so fucked up and backwards, that it doesn't even qualify as being part of the United States anymore.

Damn queers.
But honestly, I couldn't give a shit what people want to do with their lives. As long as they don't do gay shit around me, I fully support gay marriage.
