Wow. Just wow. Does anyone else know why Pakistan supported the Taliban in the first place? Because the Taliban looked like they were winning and so Pakistan decided to support the side that wins so it eliminate a border threat and concentrate on forfitifying its Eastern Border to attack India or to defend it. I mean it was already bad enough with Bin Laden hiding out there, this is just encouraging Pakistan to support the Taliban.

Pakistan is just prone to being fucking stupid!!!
They support and arm extremists in neighboring regions, they dont work to bolster security and their own government in their most restless provinces (NWFP). They are so damn paranoid about India. India is looking to the future and Pakistan is stuck in the past.Karzai is looking for another partner in the region and its India.
Im of Pakistani heritage myself and Im just glad I'm not there right now.

I think Pakistan's allegiance lies in the dead bodies of Mumbai...
The fatc that we even tried to ally with them is nothing more than an example of the very reason we're in a lot of the messes we're in. Perhaps we should support countries for the right reasons, not because they fit our needs in the short term...

All the more reason why Pakistan is ruled by a bunch of dumbasses, and trying to support them any further at this point is a waste of time and effort. The only reason why we did support Pakistan is because the old government was going to help find Bin Laden and get Al-Queda, and when Musharaff {or whatever his name is} left office, then it became a literal haven for them coming over from Afghanistan.
Not to mention, their hatred for India is as fierce as ever, considering that both sides have nukes pointed at their biggest cities, just in case. Pakistan is definitely behind the 8 ball now, what with Afghanistan and India agreeing to an alliance and the U.S. growing more angry with Pakistan's inaction over the years.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Sweet, glad to see more involvement from India. The U.S has been backing the wrong horse for years now and Afghanistan is reminding us of it.

This^ If Pakistan and India were one, there power and strength on the world scene would be un paralleled in that region.Your talking about the unification of what is now Pakistan whose people always traditionally leaned towards military backgrounds and India which is very much an economical force to be reckoned with. The dual effects of a military/economic power and their influence would be amazing.Sad to see religion mucking things up.

Agreed 110%.
Perhaps we should support countries for the right reasons, not because they fit our needs in the short term...
Oh come on now! It's not like this strategy has ever fucked us over. Why just look at China! Oh...oh right...uh...Cuba? No...no...bad example there too...
