Yeah, that's FL. I'm using it and ProTools at the moment - a friend of a friend works for Avid, so I got a good deal. My next plans for the room will most likely be making a cloud or two. Clouds are absorbers that hang from the ceiling above the mix position.

Ah, I recently got it and still trying to learn stuff on the demo version. Not so bad once I started to learn how to make more than one pattern to play. :(

Clouds, the name of them sounds dreamy anyways. :P

But before then, I'll probably put a bunch of insulation above the drop ceiling in the corners to help with bass absorption. That'll cost a fair bit, though.

Sounds like it's going to be awesome.

Riggathor,

What are the specs on your production rig? I need to start building a tower, since my laptops aren't capable of handling the load that my production needs.

Did you build one specifically or did you just order a pre-built?

I built one specifically. My goals were to have a fast processor, at least 8 gigs of ram, and a lot of hard drive space. Graphics cards aren't as high-priority for a music rig, but since I use this computer for gaming and plan to have multiple monitors, I got a pretty nice one.

I built it in January 2009 and have added to it over the years. The processor, motherboard and RAM are still the original ones I bought - the processor is an overclocked AMD 940 Black and I forget the name of the motherboard and RAM :P - and since then I've added an Intel XM-58 SSD, seven terabytes of internal hard drives, and replaced my graphics card with a Radeon 5850.

The case is quiet for a normal case, but still pretty loud for a studio. I'm thinking about water-cooling for my next build...who knows?
