StCyril, then how come the most livable, safest, and one of the most educated cities in California (Irvine) is a city with a large Chinese population? It's the city in Orange County where UC Irvine is, and it's a center of technology employment.

I'm gonna stop you right there. Because that's not saying much. California is one of the most polluted states in the US. They also have a pretty high crime rate. Visited three cities in CA once, will never go back.
Also, in Boston, several public parks are closed now at 10pm because of Chinese gangs. Go ask the national park service that takes care of Castle Island, they'll tell you all about it.

Irvine is the safest mid-sized city (220,000 people) in the United States.
Also San Diego and San Jose are some of the safest major US cities.

Calling Chinese immigrants stupid is an unfair generalization. I have several friends in school who have arrived from china relatively recently. They may not speak English very well, but are fairly gifted in math and sciences. I think that the majority of their problems in school stem from an inadequate knowledge of English, which is to be expected from new immigrants. I'm sure that you would also have trouble getting good grades or finding good work in a country where you do not speak the native language well.

Congrats

I think we've established a difference between school and street smarts. This is where I'm speaking from. I've seen several immigrants from various backgrounds that have come here, and none of them are as intellectually lost as Chinese immigrants when it comes to anything outside the lab.
I think that the majority of their problems in school stem from an inadequate knowledge of English,
I wouldn't debate this, but we're not talking about school, thats the one place I've collectively seen them doing fine.

Because it's deceitful. All stereotypes are. It assumes(Wrongly) that an entire race of people act the same way or do the same things. It's an insult to the notion of individualism.
But a positive one, why is this a problem?Indonesians: Level head, good work ethic.Stereotype.
I've already said it.
But a positive one, why is this a problem?Japanese: Highly intelligent, very out-going.Stereotype.
I've already said it.
But a positive one, why is this a problem?Laosian: Determined.Stereotype.
I've already sad it.
What stereotypinhg? what does that word mean? Do you mean STEREOTYPING!?I could go on, but let's get to the route of my post... The Chinese.More stereotypinhg? OK.
Yes.
Your proof? As far as immigrants go from a rising nation... I don't get it. THEY'RE DUMB AS HELL!Even though they're not.
Can you prove that they're dumb? I don't need to prove myself. However, you do if you want me to take your contentions seriously.
Perhaps, but even here people have admitted that this one is dead on!Seriously, overall, I've never met a group of people so collectively stupid. The next time you see a Chinese immigrant, look for this:Even more stereotypes?
EXTREMELY poor driving abilities.
Yeah, so if people say something is true, then it is.
You do realize that this is a logical fallacy right? Just because a lot of people say it is so, doesn't mean it is.
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN GILLIGAN'S ISLAND?A not so bright "gilligan-like" stare. How does this indicate stupidity?
No, but your point is largely invalid because you're attempting to assert stereotypes as truth.
How are Chinese immigrants a race? I didn't say people of Chinese decent, I didn't say CHINESE PEOPLE, and I didn't say Asians. I specifically said Chinese Immigrants. How is that a race?Unable to follow basic instuctions.Maybe you just know some dumb Chinese people. You can't think an entire race of people is stupid because a few happen not to be very bright.
What's the difference between Chinese immigrants and people of Chinese descent? That those people of Chinese descent are often born in America or other foreign countries?
Your point is still very much about race.
Funny he didn't comment on this one...A complete and utter inability to grasp reality.
I guess I forgot then.
Well, I disagree. There.
Fair enough, but that doesn't explain why Hispanic, middle eastern, and africans can speak it so much better!AND have the hardest time understanding english!English is one of the most complicated languages in the world. I hope you know that.
Umm, you said that Chinese immigrants can't speak it well. Neither can many Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and African immigrants.
Right and China has the highest suicide rate in the world, but they are the moral compass for parenting.I mean seriously, what is China trying to do, lower the Western Nations' cumulative IQs by sending us their dumbest?Chinese culture actually stresses excellence, high intelligence, and high work ethic. You should read "Battle Hymn of the Chinese Mother" by Amy Chua. She advocates the parenting style most common in Chinese culture, which happens to stress what I just mentioned.
I never said they were the moral compass of parenting. I just asserted that their style of parenting directly contradicts your thoughts about Chinese immigrants' attitudes towards education and intelligence.
psssshhhh...from wiki...
What does this prove exactly?

Not the entire race, just the vast majority!

I've provided links, footage... go to youtube and type in crazy chinese. watch the chaos that ensues.
Seriously, overall, I've never met a group of people so collectively stupid. The next time you see a Chinese immigrant, look for this:
Yeah, so if people say something is true, then it is.
Say something and can confirm it, which they have.
You do realize that this is a logical fallacy right? Just because a lot of people say it is so, doesn't mean it is.
Then you're calling a huge majority wrong. Which may be the case, but I think there is a ton of evidence to the contrary.
No, but your point is largely invalid because you're attempting to assert stereotypes as truth.
If a large enough % of the populus does or is it, then it's not a steriotype.
I guess I forgot then.
tsk tsk
Umm, you said that Chinese immigrants can't speak it well. Neither can many Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and African immigrants.
Maybe not, but they do a lot better and make more of an effort as a whole.
What does this prove exactly?
It proves my point.

Okay, now type in, "crazy American," "crazy Japanese," and "crazy black guy."
btw, I did search "crazy chinese," and only got a bunch of videos of Chinese people doing amazing ("crazy") acrobatic and athletic feats.

That's still stereotyping.
Can you prove that they're dumb? I don't need to prove myself. However, you do if you want me to take your contentions seriously.I've provided links, footage... go to youtube and type in crazy chinese. watch the chaos that ensues.
Unless these videos that you speak of document the vast majority of Chinese immigrants acting like you say they do, then your point is still invalid.
And I know that those videos don't observe the vast majority of Chinese immigrants acting like you contend they do. Once again, you're just stereotyping.
Seriously, overall, I've never met a group of people so collectively stupid. The next time you see a Chinese immigrant, look for this:Yeah, so if people say something is true, then it is.Say something and can confirm it, which they have.
You still committed a logical fallacy, though. As such, you've objectively lost this part of the argument because you resorted to using an error in reasoning and logic to substantiate a point that you made earlier.
Now, if you can use hard evidence, and I doubt you can, then I'll be more inclined to believe you.
You do realize that this is a logical fallacy right? Just because a lot of people say it is so, doesn't mean it is.Then you're calling a huge majority wrong. Which may be the case, but I think there is a ton of evidence to the contrary.
I can call huge majorities wrong and get away with it, because it's not necessarily fallacious. However, you asserted that you were right because a bunch of people agree with you, and that is undeniably fallacious and wrong.
You say there's a ton of evidence, but you've only furnished evidence of the anecdotal kind, which is absolutely worthless in this argument of ours.
No, but your point is largely invalid because you're attempting to assert stereotypes as truth. If a large enough % of the populus does or is it, then it's not a steriotype.
What is large enough for you anyway?
And you still have no evidence that the majority of Chinese immigrants do what you claim they do.
I guess I forgot then.tsk tsk
Maybe not, but they do a lot better and make more of an effort as a whole.
Umm, you said that Chinese immigrants can't speak it well. Neither can many Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and African immigrants.

Rivals!? Unless you're of South Korean decent, the Chinese have been your closest allies since the late 40s, so I'm not sure what you're smoking.
All of your other stuff I just ignored cause it's just a bunch of weak "arguments" against what I said.
But what you said above particularly caught my attention. So here's what I got to say:
LOL. What you just said here exemplifies your ignorance. Honestly I really have no business arguing with a guy who doesn't even know what he's talking about. ONLY LIKE 2% of AMERICA HAS KOREANS OF NORTH KOREAN DESCENT. I'm from SOUTH KOREAN DESCENT, like almost EVERY SINGLE Korean American here. Honestly, this post makes it so that I can't take you seriously. What are YOU smoking? North Koreans have to RISK THEIR LIVES to run away from their country, and most are lucky to make it to SOUTH KOREA or even CHINA, let alone coming here to AMERICA. You're freaking RETARDED. This REALLY proves you have not much knowledge about diaspora.
Honestly you say that just cause Korea is next to China, and they're as different as "night and day" that I might not have extra insight? Well I do and I'm not here to just "lecture you" but point out that you are a flippin nut-job.
There are NO holes in my argument cause everything you said to "refute it" is completely irrelevant blabber.
You don't have the inferential skills to judge that what I'm saying is in defense of CHINESE AMERICANS and that while I don't have any particular affinity for them, I'm compelled to refute what you said cause it's so dumb and ignorant. Seriously, you have no true argument against me. Everything you say is based on fallacies, misknowledge, and circular reasoning.
It's funny how you say that you're only arguing against CHINESE AMERICANS, but at the same time talk about stuff that CHINESE PEOPLE in the PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA do. Chinese Colleges, Chinese Cars, they're from CHINA, not from the smart Chinese Americans here in AMERICA.
You contradict yourself in numerous cases.
Also I know the world around me, and I don't even want to explain why. You just have to trust me on that, I participate in extra curricular activities that OBLIGATES me to constantly learn about the world around me.
It may be true that a lot of the Chinese students here are from student visas, but almost EVERY single Chinese American I know have parents that force them to study hard. I honestly can't think of one Chinese American that I know personally who is failing in ANY class, and I can only think of them studying hard and doing well in their studies. Honestly.
Honestly I don't know more than you cause my eyes have the same shape as other Asians. I know more because I do. I have Chinese American friends, I learned extra about East Asian history because of my intrinsic interest in that subject, and I have a long line of ancestors who've interacted with the Chinese throughout thousands of years, mostly to fend them off in times of war.
Do you think I have any particular love for the Chinese? They tried to take over South Korea during the Korean War, and my grandparents and my fellow Americans had to risk their lives fending them off to preserve South Korea's democracy and capitalism, the two things that made it so that Koreans of SOUTH KOREAN descent could come here. Thanks to the communist Chinese, people sharing my blood live in an oppressive Communist regime in North Korea, starving, trapped, and living without freedom.
Yet Chinese Americans are different from the Chinese living in China. They're Americans, and your negative rhetoric against them riles me up a bit.
Plus nobody cares what HIGH SCHOOL you came from. And I highly doubt that you're from Boston College or whatever, there's no proof.

I'm from SOUTH KOREAN DESCENT, like almost EVERY SINGLE Korean American here. Honestly, this post makes it so that I can't take you seriously.
Ah so this is the reason, yeah see above.
Uh oh, he used the R word, in most staes today that's offensive, so lets see, so far this miserable fuck just enforced a stereotype and now insulted anyone with mental or physical defect... tsk tsk.
Honestly you say that just cause Korea is next to China, and they're as different as "night and day" that I might not have extra insight?
That's exactly what I'm saying.
Well I do and I'm not here to just "lecture you" but point out that you are a flippin nut-job.
Ah childish name calling, classy. Well I'll respond with the same, you need to go back where you came from you fucking chink. You're a hypocrite and a looser.
There are NO holes in my argument cause everything you said to "refute it" is completely irrelevant blabber.
There are plenty of holes in your argument, that you choose not to address them is your own problem.
You don't have the inferential skills to judge that what I'm saying is in defense of CHINESE AMERICANS and that while I don't have any particular affinity for them,
Oh the hypocrisy
I'm compelled to refute what you said cause it's so dumb and ignorant. Seriously, you have no true argument against me. Everything you say is based on fallacies, misknowledge, and circular reasoning.
So to sum this up....
I make argument
punk makes refutting argument
I refute his argument
He doesn't like what I've said and refuses to face facts, so he gets all pissy and becomes the whiney little bitch he is and refuses to face facts.
Niiiice...
It's funny how you say that you're only arguing against CHINESE AMERICANS, but at the same time talk about stuff that CHINESE PEOPLE in the PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA do.
I didn't bring it up. I don't like the current status of the average person in China, but I have no problem with them as a whole.
Chinese Colleges,
What did I say that wasn't true?
Chinese Cars,
What did I say that wasn't true?
they're from CHINA, not from the smart Chinese Americans here in AMERICA.
Uh huh...
You contradict yourself in numerous cases.
Statement with nothing to back it up, nice.
Also I know the world around me, and I don't even want to explain why.
Usually that means you don't
You just have to trust me on that,
I don't take people's word on anything, especially not some mentally distraught little plebe.
I participate in extra curricular activities that OBLIGATES me to constantly learn about the world around me.
masterbating in your moms basement while posting on newgrounds isn't an extra curricular activity dude...
It may be true that a lot of the Chinese students here are from student visas,
Thank you!
but almost EVERY single Chinese American I know
How many is that again? 2?
have parents that force them to study hard. I honestly can't think of one Chinese American that I know personally who is failing in ANY class, and I can only think of them studying hard and doing well in their studies. Honestly.
so you know a few who are doing well, great.
Honestly I don't know more than you cause my eyes have the same shape as other Asians.
Really? You didn't JUST say that you racist little fuck.
": Honestly you say that just cause Korea is next to China, and they're as different as "night and day" that I might not have extra insight? Well I do and I'm not here to just "lecture you" but point out that you are a flippin nut-job"
I know more because I do.
Ah believe what I say and do or I'll make fun of you, typical liberal talk.
I have Chinese American friends,
You have to have friends first.
I learned extra about East Asian history because of my intrinsic interest in that subject,
Listening to "Turning Japanese" on the radio doesn't count.
and I have a long line of ancestors who've interacted with the Chinese throughout thousands of years, mostly to fend them off in times of war.
"Interacted" yeah let's call it that...
Do you think I have any particular love for the Chinese?
Sounds like it.
They tried to take over South Korea during the Korean War, and my grandparents and my fellow Americans had to risk their lives fending them off to preserve South Korea's democracy and capitalism, the two things that made it so that Koreans of SOUTH KOREAN descent could come here. And that's my problem how?

THATS WHAT I HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG YOU FUCKING DUMBASS!!!
Plus nobody cares what HIGH SCHOOL you came from. And I highly doubt that you're from Boston College or whatever, there's no proof.
Theres no proof that your the chinky little fuck you claim to be either and if no one cares what school I went to, why did they ask, moron?

I don't know if someone has already been here, but I feel this video is extremely relevant to this conversation.
Just to throw in my two cents, if you look at someone based on their ethnicity or their gender or basically any generalization, you will always find some kind of flaw. Every individual is different.
Carry on.
