Okay so... I have been into .hack// for a while since I saw the twilight anime n T.V. like 10 years ago.

I only played like 5 seconds of the first /hack/ game and all of G.U vol 3... (its complicated... I want all of them!) So I hears .hack//link is out in japan. SO I got it. Tho I have noIdea what is going on, I love the main characters speed, fighting style and swords (his look is dumb for the fact he looks liek a normal high school student whichis fine but his hair looks like tai from digimons even has the goggles! has eds hair color n face form cowboy bebop tho).

Then I wanted to redraw the character from the first .hack// because I didnt like his hood... SO I went to work on THIS! But... I messed up biiig time on the collar n hate it... but love everythign else butpants n collar n boots! I made my own characer who wields swords like I belive Tokio from .hack//link (thast why i mention it above) nut made hsi style totally original.

This is the pre art for it, since I hate the collar..I am thinking of adding clothes under it or makign the collar thast huuude hug his neck. Also might re design swords a bit... though i love them. His name is Darius Stark(girlfriend came up with it).

My question is, does helook like he'd fit in the .hack// world? If not does he atleast look cool? Is the art good? (when i messed up ont he color i was lazy on colorign in the black shades) I know is not shaded or colored but is the techique and body proportions okay? I messed up the legs a bit and the hips... but other than that I think I did good.and on his neck thats a tattoo that is 777. not hair or his neck bein cut off haha.

I dunno he kind of looks like he belongs in yu-gi-oh or something, the checkered really throws off their theme of costumes and looks too modern then.
the proportions arent BAD but could do with improvement, his right arm is confusing me, i cant really tell what direction its going in but i dont think you intended it to look that short.
from all the .hack// ive seen and played, a good idea of their costumes is like fantasy themed, where its in its separate time zone and layers of fabric. its usually poofy with a central color theme. think about your characters outfit according to what hes wearing. he looks like some sort of dual wield for melee attack. he would probably be wearing something that doesnt have bits of fabric running off him, it would all be fit clothes with maybe a few pieces of plate.

Yeah thats a problem i have usually. well his right arm is bent but u cant see it so u can only see the other hald of his arm. its going out straight out then bends right holdign the sword forward. i thik the costuem itself ooks .hack//-ish the only problems is the collar. and he is a dual wild but he has belt form the sleevs fi u can see, and the like cape part off the jacket, alot of knight has those way back when as a symbol of high royalty and honor so i put it on there. i dont think itd interfere with his fighting.

I see alot of .hack// characters with htis kind of look because .ahck// isnt jsut fantasy.l i mean heck haseo had duel guns and a very very modern look fo rhis xth form. they also haev steam powered gear so i think his look fits.

? Uh I was taking your advice sir. I was just syaing those two thing you said about his arm and his looks not matching where alittle off but it wasnt your fault.

I am happy to take any advice and criticism i get. If I can though I would like to explain the few flaw people point out and either tell them why it is or tell them how it is only when they are misinformed.

His left arm is too long and his right leg is too thin. Everything in the picture is too scattered. This is a good concept or practice sketch, but I wouldn't consider it finished.

I only ever saw .hack//sign and I don't think a gun would fit in that setting.

yeah his left arm IS to lon I noticd to XD i ment to have it straight out at first btu though this woudl look better and it didnt turn out so well. His other legsnot thinner the others bent forward and i tried to show that by enlarging it tword the viewer but it seems it didnt work XD I agree I was tired when I did this so it is all scattered.

Well thank you I appreciate that and yes I agree its nto really finished. but the concept art for this character is done at least. I will post my redo on this guy. I really like his hair though alot.

Oh and about .hack//sign um... yeah a gunwoudlnt workj in that scenario thats the anime i believe. the anime was the very first to anything on .hack// so. but in the later generations in .hack//g.u. the main charcter dual wields gusn and they have a whole city powered by steam technology and he rides a steam bike.

Why thank you! Sadly though .hack// doesnt have this type of style until .hack//G.U. which has alot of story missing form .hack//Infection and its 3 counterparts.

They are jsut as awsome but doesnt haev the future techy look... Wel thanks anyway sir!
