I still can't get over you comparing firearms to underwear to be honest. You can accuse me of not getting it as I do not own a gun, thats ok. But I don't think I'd have an issue with someone questioning idk what colour my tennis ratchet is and its length etc. Its just items map. I get why you'd be annoyed (and you are) about them telling you to mind your business after you ask why they're curious about YOUR stuff, but what exactly can they do with that information anyway? Inform people that you have a rifle? Who doesn't already know that?
Lots of people who have no business knowing don't know. I have no problem with certain people on NG knowing because I've known lots of you for years. It's different when someone is running their mouth to people I don't know about my legal but unregistered weapons that can kill quite easily and are worth easily more than the amount you make in a month. (no offense to your income) While they are at it, they should ask me what's in my bank account and my social security number so they can tell other people too. My firearms are my business, and the business of those who I choose to share it with. No one else's. People blabbing their mouths about who owns firearms is how people become targets. And if they feel they can run their mouths to anyone, then sooner or later, shit will go sour for those people who they chose to blab their mouths about. Firearm owners become targets for burglary and robbery when it is known that they have them. A tennis ratchet is very, very, very different from a firearm. One is purely for entertainment purposes and sport. The other is for providing food, and for self defense against individuals and even governments.
Thus. It's no one's damn business regarding my firearms unless I choose to tell them. And those who I tell aren't supposed to be running their mouths to complete strangers.
