Whether it be Navy Seals, Army Rangers / Green Berets, Marine Force Recon, MARSOC, and/or any other special forces groups out there. The prospect of top-tier training, world travel, and lots of guns is definitely a tantalizing offer, but it's also a lifestyle. Especially for those in relationships/married, the non-stop deployments and constant separation can tear relationships apart. Would you do it?
The only time I'd join any kind of military forces is if the United States was being invaded.
no thanks, i don't want to surrender my rights and be forced into life threatening situations and having basically half my life ( if it doesn't come to an end) as a fight and struggle for our government.
I'm currently an enlisted Marine with all the necessary prerequisites to attend A&S training to try out for MARSOC in a couple months. Even if I pass the screening / tests (which I will, should I decide to go) I can still walk away if I decide not to do it. The catch is that it's 5 year commitment. I'm not sure if I'd like to go 5 more years without the chance to have a "life" apart from military operations.
I don't want to die on some covert mission that would probably only serve to further some unimportant political posturing.
Nothing against the people that go into that line of work, but I don't trust the political leaders of this nation to put my life in their hands.

I really can't see myself operating as a SpecOps member, so I would have to say no.

it would have to be for something i truly believe in
It's a tempting choice, and even the prospect of working for a government I wouldn't trust further then I could spit isn't a deal-breaker. What it really comes down to is that all I want out of life is to layin the lap of luxury playing videogames, sleeping with loose women and the army is too much work.
Absolutely. I would love to serve my country in that way. If I could protect an entire country against a terrorist threat then I've done the right things.
Yea, I farm Anal Penguins. Do something about it.

It's for OUR rights and OUR freedom. Try again genius.
I tried to join the armed forces a while back but they knocked me back because I had previously had a seizure. It was one of the single most frustrating things that has ever happened to me as i perfomed well enough on the aptitude test to be able to do anything I wanted within the armed forces. I was also in extremley good physical condition or at least good enough physical condition to comfortbly pass any physical testing.
Long story short, If they didnt knock me back I would be an officer by now and I would be well on the way to becoming a commando or possibly even SAS. Probably not SAS though cause their training is rediculous and also becaue my dad (who is a psychiatrist) has had several former SAS soldiers come to see him because they have been completley mentally fucked by things they saw in the field.

That would be a dream come true for me. I just don't feel like I have enough commitment, plus I'm pretty sure there are some tests that you have to take to get into Special Forces, and tests aren't really my thing.
Those went the real spear heads of the front forces of the Americans or Canadians or the like..
You never hear about the real spear head people. To highly trained, to secretive, to covert and to controlled by non government agencies to be on the record

I might be consider aiming to join the Dragoons when i have felt i have set my family's future in stone financially and have done everything to make sure my family is safeguarded for better or for worse and/or i feel i have nothing else to lose by joining such a armed forces branch.
A toil today is a lesson tomorrow.
I wouldn't even enlist in the regular armed forces, why would I go for the special forces?
Not for me, I'd rather get a job, have some hobbies and go out dating
I decided to find out what it would be like to just move away and live in Sydney for one year.
You can read my blog about my life in Sydney here: MIKEING IT IN AUSTRLOLIA
If my body was physically fit enough, and I could qualify, I'd love to be an Elite Special Forces Pilot.
