Greatest Movies I've Never Seen 2011-09-25 06:29:32 Reply

I love movies. But there are some of the BIG ones that I just haven't bothered with yet. The sort of films people shout at me for not watching. The sort of films people go on for hours about how great, weird or silly they are.

A while back I composed a list of about 20 movies that people told me were great and just watched them all. Some became favourites, the others ended up sucking (THE GODFATHER ISN'T THAT GREAT, TURNS OUT).

I've made another list, but much bigger this time. Well over 100 films that people tell me are superb but I haven't ended up watching... and I'ma watch them all. Now, not all of these are Oscar winning masterpieces (The Human Centipede, for example), but they might just be films that I hear so much about that I've wanted to watch.

Anyway, here's the list. Any suggestions? Personal favourites?

They show it on TV about 6 times a year. Yet never had the chance to actually watch it.

All Star Wars
All Indiana Jones

I didn't think it was possible for a human in this day and age to have not seen the original trilogies of both these series. You're missing out.

And yes you should watch Billy Elliott. Charming films. Plus The Usual Suspects and American History X.

No. Fuck no. Hell fucking no.

That was a terrible film and only gained any form of commercial success thanks to its shitty, dark artsy-fartsy approach.

Why does everyone put Rain Man on their list. It wasn't a very good movie at all.
