I guess that's true, but it seems to me that people normally don't start clopping unless they've found anthro or animal porn arousing before. Then again there sure are some creepy basementdwellers out there, the very fact that there exists pornographic content of the CMC is wrong on so many levels.
Those who make mature art in anthro styles more than likely are, those who make mature art likely just like the ponies and find them attractive. I don't see it as liking animals having sex. Personally I have seen my fair share of mature pony art and admit to liking some of them. But I don't find animals having sex etc. to be hot at all. The characters that the ponies go with and them being drawn etc. gives them their own appeal. I heavily doubt many people enjoy such things on the basis of them being animals, more on the basis of them finding the way they look and their personalities etc. to be hot instead.
On the basis of the CMC, I agree that is very wrong. The mane cast support themselves and have jobs etc. so they are of legal age so people enjoying things of them is fine. The CMC are foals though and I am against children being shown in such a way, so I am also against the CMC being shown in such ways. I do accept romance between them, but it can't go past hugging and kissing before I start to just question it and leave it alone.

never heard of pony persons, first time i ever see this subject. and i am on other brony forums too, so im pretty damn sure this doesn't even exist.
It's another misconception people have with what type of characters fans make. Fans don't make personas as much as we make 'Original Character' OC ponies. They usually don't end up being "us" either tbh they end up being more of ponies we find interesting to have. Speaking from a writing point of view I have created several OC so far when they are required to make the scenes feel more natural. For example I made a waitress for a restuarant scene who took their orders and brought the food and chatted a little etc. These tend to be the mane way OC are used. Either that or they get a more important role in moving the story, for example one that hurts one of the mane cast and the story gets based around it. It is similar to how the show itself goes, Flim and Flam for example moving in on the cider season but we do it for our fan content instead.
There are more personal OC that people can make to put a bit of themselves in the world etc. As with all fanbases there are people that like to do such things. However it needs to be remembered that not all OC are made by a fan putting themself in the world, and a majority of OC are made to help create more stories in the world etc. Personally I do the latter using OC of who I deem to be interesting to add to the world for that set story or picture.

Well, personas are typically only used on chat rooms, or elsewhere that RPing is approved of. I myself don't have one, but I do see a lot of people that bother to create them for themselves, and others.
I don't have one either, I just never felt it to be interesting to add myself to something.
Well, some people are just weird like that, having infatuations with the characters. I'll admit, I like the characters and their personalities to an extent, but never to the point of "clopping."
I admit to liking the characters a lot, I have written some mature stories myself among the rest. However I always do so with the intent of them loving each other etc. Not for clopping value. I am a sucker for romance be it cute or cloppy.
