Well, gang, looks like we have a mystery on our hands.

It'll stop being a mystery if the right people come along.

I personally hated the second to last Harry Potter movie. They spent two hours finding two horcruxes, with a little bit of character development and "drama" that was too boring to care much about. It was an extremely slow movie that had no real ending and either should have had taken it's end from the beginning of the second movie or should have been merged with the second one.

It would have ended up being an entirely different type of movie.

Is that so wrong?

You're pretty much a prime example of unpleasable fanbase, reminiscent of people who actually bashed 300 for historical inaccuracies.

...I didn't shit my pants over a movie with no plot, therefor I'm never happy? Quite the contrary. I actually enjoy most movies, and this movie was decent, but we're here to point out movies that too many people like too much, not how many movies people like too little. I had a good time watching the movie, but I can admit the movie was cruddy.

See, that's the problem, you're only looking at it in the tinted lens that ALL baked goods should be like a cake. Besides, if you're making a cake just to have it look good and not taste good, then the idiots complaining about taste are just that.

Edible goods = meant to be eaten. They're hardly idiots for eating a poisoned cake when I served it to them on the expectation of them eating it.

Every single one of those movies I listed are generally regarded as good, yet by your static standards they should by all accounts suck.

yeah man, my way of viewing movies is too mainstream.

I think movies should be fun to watch and have a decent plotline. Why does that make all of the movies you listed turn to shit?

Movies have a dynamically changing set of guidelines, and for people to think that "Plot" is an integral concept of every movie is just sad.

Why did typing this message not make you immediately slap your own face? How could anyone argue that it's a good move for an industry to throw away plotline and just have lots of explosions? Why is ANYONE OK with this? What the hell happened to art and expression, the idea of showing people emotion and turmoil, the human theater and the constant struggle between just about every force in the world? When did that become too mainstream? Why is it wrong to want a decent story? I don't read books to see how well they're written, even if good writing is important. I want a good story, characters I can attach to, something I can remember in more than one point of view. God damn. For someone who's calling ME static, you're on a seriously one track mind, it's like you want entertainment to just mean big booms and pretty lights.

Oy, calm your nips. How DARE I expect a plotline.
If you're watching a movie that wasn't going to have one from the start then you're just an idiot who complains.

So, only watch things you like and if you see something you don't like, don't say anything ever because we don't express opinions in the 21st century.

Is what I said incorrect? You have stated yourself different types of movies should have different guidelines.

The very next word is 'however'. You can't just slide a smug comment in there and expect it to have any grounds for anything, when it's only a response to the opening line of an argument. "I think cheese is delicious, however, I don't like it on my potatoes." "OH YOU SAID CHEESE WAS DELICIOUS, I REST MY CASE, ILL PUT IT ON YOUR POTATOES OYU SAID IT YOURSELF."

Which I find hilarious since nowhere have I stated anything contradictory to that, and only opposed the smug self-righteous people like yourself who completely miss the point of the movie, or the entire genre.

IM smug and self righteous? We're in a thread where we are SUPPOSED to tell what movies we thought stunk! There WAS no point to that movie, it was just an action flick with explosions and guns! I'm opposed to that because I think it's stupid, it's shallow, and it doesn't add anything to the genre! Granted in this day and age there can't be an insane amount of ground breaking new film techniques or additions, but come on! How are you not being self righteous when you show up to a thread acting all condescending and calling me an idiot for watching a movie and not liking it, insisting that I "missed the point" and "shouldn't be judging any movie" because I disliked a movie you didn't dislike?

I started out with nothing and still have most of it!

Yes it would be.

How can one enjoy the movie if it is bad? Unless it's one of those so bas it's good types like a lot of B-flicks (Which is the aim of them) then I do not see how you can think that.

Edible goods = meant to be eaten. They're hardly idiots for eating a poisoned cake when I served it to them on the expectation of them eating it.

And that right there is showing your bias. Edible goods for quite a while are sometimes used for show. You see, this is the thing. You're taking a poisoned caking and looking at its edibleness and not whether or not it was able to kill the guests, which is the purpose of the poisoned cake.

yeah man, my way of viewing movies is too mainstream.

?

I think movies should be fun to watch and have a decent plotline. Why does that make all of the movies you listed turn to shit?

The movies I listed either operated on a similar level to The Expendables, or didn't have enough eye candy which you mentioned earlier as one of your two requirements, albeit in different words,

Why did typing this message not make you immediately slap your own face? How could anyone argue that it's a good move for an industry to throw away plotline and just have lots of explosions? Why is ANYONE OK with this? You're looking at this issue like it's black and white, and that if I think it's ok for some movies to forsake plot, then it must mean I want all movies to forsake it. You say that telling a story is art, yet many people found the visuals of Avatar to be the most beautiful seen on the screen to date, and that movie had a copy and paste plot yet no one cared. Well, the people like you did who completely miss the point.

So, only watch things you like and if you see something you don't like, don't say anything ever because we don't express opinions in the 21st century.

No, go ahead and judge. It just makes you look like an idiot. <Insert Einstein quote>

Yet you have no qualms about your sliding in the smug comments. Hypocrisy is fun is it not?

There was no point, just an action flick with explosions and guns. Holy shit, you finally figured out what they were going for from the very start. This movie is a throwback, and it is in a dying genre. I didn't find The Expendables that much either, but for reasons that are actually applicable. I didn't judge it on the basis that it was going to have some excellent plot, but I judged it on it being, you know, an action movie filled with explosions. It is not simply you disliking something, it's your reason for doing it. Adding on top of this your comments about true art, I am definitely standing by my assertion that you are nothing more then an elitist snob.

Going to have to go with Harry Potter or Twilight. Although they were books first they still are really overrated movies.

Every Stephen King movie ever. Except maybe misery, even then it wasn't spectacular.
