2007 with the redesign.
Very few updates since then and I would imagine that ad revenue has been falling since then.
If you compare NG to Armorgames, there is a clear winner in terms of expansion and popularity; I have been a member of Armorgames since the very beginning and Dan has really made a good business model.
I don't really know if Newgrounds reached a peak. It has always been pretty consistent, I think it just seemed to be a tad bit better back in the day because I was younger and more likely to laugh at just anything.
Never. It never reached it's peak, nothing can reach it's peak, it's impossible. Because no matter what, it can always improve.
Ecchi first, ask questions never.
I can't really say considering my sign up date isn't even (but almost!) a year old, but I I've seen pictures and stuff that show off the previous site, and somewhere between 2007 would be the site's peak for me.
2009 and 2010 have delievered some great flash though, so I'd sat content wise, newer is better.

that was the record for most site activity
No it wasn't. Number of people visiting the BBS does not equate to the number of people visiting the site. I really wish everyone would stop thinking that the BBS is the hub of the site, most people coming here don't bother / care / know / look through it.

You got something wrong there brah.

Also, Bolo, I so remember you being super-high level.
Double... the trouble.
But seriously, I guess everyone has a different opinion.

I think it is not the time to talk about it. I mean when a company talks about its hay days it means the company is in trouble. I suggest we move forward and talk about IDEAS! :)

One reason I give for this is the low and unchanging bar set for flash to be accepted into the portal (score of 1.60). Another is the behavior of users. 5-bombing for stats instead of voting on the quality of the submission. Neglecting to use the whistle when needed. These things encourage more garbage to be sent into the portal, and better users to travel elsewhere.
Maybe it's just that I've aged and matured, but I feel like the quality of this forum has gone down the drain. I'd say I find 1 out of 10 threads "slightly" interesting. I feel like I can't relate with most people here anymore. It seems as if the crowd is getting younger and dumber each month.
I still have hopeI. I continue to come here quite often, hoping to find something good. Maybe a great new game, or an interesting discussion on the BBS.
This is probably the most well-informed post in this thread, if not on the BBS. I was going to say something similar. You really resumed all of my thoughts right there - I've noticed it too. Newgrounds is slowly going down the drain, people just don't care like they used to.
I, without kidding, blame it on Facebook and Twitter. People have just become self-centered since Facebook got that popularity boost back in 2009.
I invented Gnoming. Don't believe me?

Well, Sir, if there are stats showing the number of visitors going to the site then I would like to see it.
Well i'll have to say 2003, but 2007 is definatly my favorite year, i have the most awesome memories from 2007. Great submissions and the redesign came along aswell!
Looks like most of you all agree, nice:)
