I was actually shaken by that shit.
I know Neverending Story wasn't a Disney film, but when I was little I cried when the horse died.

Even though they don't die, the fact that they were all so willing to accept death at that moment was heart-wrenching.
I also have to go with this, because the most Disney deaths is never really that sad because the most deaths you'll "see" in a Disney movie is a villian death, and they just make you thrilled or frightened (because some of their deaths are gruesome). But the saddest actuall death is Mufasah of course.
On another subject: The best villian death in Disney movie history, I say Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Remeber that speech he give them before he means stabb them down? Talk about ironic and poetic death.

Snow White's death, plus the funeral that follows it. Pretty much after the witch dies is when I shut the movie off.
The fact that there are so many death scenes in what are supposed to be Children's movies is disturbing in itself.
Excuse me, I'm looking for a car that's been tricked out to look like an ice cream truck.
I could use a strapping young man to do some chores around the house!

I knew thats why this thread was spawned. Good choice Lion -King is the best Disney film of all time.
Sucked Scars vain ass killed Mufasa, that dude was like Leonidas only with a cooler voice.

I think that the death of Mufasa in The Lion King is very sad. Because at this point the viewer already realised the strong relationship between him and Simba, and how much he needs him to become a good Lion. The fact that he sacrifices himself for his son, who got in a situation that could have been prevented from the very beginning, makes it even more sad. That Mufasa got additionally betrayed by Scar, and that Simba still thinks that he alone is responsible for his death turns this into the saddest disney death.
Without truth, there is no justice.

Definitely Mufasa. The only other death which holds a candle is Bambis mother but thats at the beginning of the film. The difference with Mufasas death which makes it even harsher is how upbeat the film was before that. It's like the brightest Disney film I can think of - before the Pixar era. And yeah when Mufasa dies it just goes from like a party to a funeral. Horrid stuff.
RIP Mufasa.
The Lion King with Mufasa dying, that is just so upsetting especially with how Simba is forced to believe it's his fault for so many years, that just added sadness to it even more for his entire life to be ruined by the event.

The one involving your mother!
I'm very sorry if your mother is actually dead.
Of course Mufasa's death was sad. Also the death of Ray the firefly in the Princess and the Frog movie was sad too.

that's the death i choose to be the saddest
without Walt, none of these movies would have been made, none of the fake deaths would of occurred
meaning his death is the saddest of them all

Besides, he isn't dead, he's just in cryogenic suspension until they can develop technology to remove his tumor safely.
Everyone says he's stored under the Pirates of the Carribean ride, but that's a lie.
They actually hid him under the teacup ride.
I feel left out... I've hardly watched any Disney movies... The only ones I remember are the two Brother Bear films, so I guess the mother (Or was it the father? I forget these things...) bear that was killed in the first one, but I wasn't really sad. I know it's not real, so I don't cry. Although, I'm slowly getting more emotional during movies.
