out of all the mario fan art there is, this isn't too bad. i like how clean the lines are, and the amount interest in the piece itself there is. I also like that you put EFFORT into it xD most people that start a newgrounds thread in a "check out my fan art" fashion expect instant gratification for their 2 minute drawing, but you did well.
keep posting, good start :D
..
Interesting indeed, Welcome to NG BBS art forum, enjoy your stay. As jeeshwa stated it is a good start and don't stop here continue to post more. If need be, we are here to help if we can find anything you need or want to improve on. But as of late everyone is pretty busy because school is back in session, which I assume everyone is busy with :).(I will be around though) And again Welcome!
Art is vast as Love is deep, Trying to Explain the two is like trying to discover everything there is about the ocean.

Thanks, I also have a Pokemon/Gurren lagann cross over pic that is in my art section that i also put a decent amount of effort into making except the clouds which i kinda got lazy at the end.
Currently i am focused on a flash animation right now that i have been wanting to make for some time now but when i take breaks i will work on some other artworks.
Preview pic from my animation, hopefully i can keep this quality consistent xD
For the level of depth that you use in your art, specifically the Mario fan-art, I'd suggest using three levels of cel-shading. Presently, it looks slightly flat and out of place considering the multitude of three-dimensional forms in the composition.
