Awesome Asian Girl Angry About...

So recently I've been talking to this really cute, awesome Chinese American girl from Virginia. She's 15, and she's Shanghainese, just like what 50% of me is. But she's living in a part of Virginia with a large Asian population, mainly Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese. However her area lacks a Japanese community, and at her high school, which has one of the largest concentration of Asians in the east coast in a public school, she says there's less than 10 Japanese kids. She's kind of pissed off about it, and her knowing I live in California, she was aware of the fact there's three Japantowns in California: one in San Francisco, one in L.A., and one in San Jose.

She was all like "omg all the japtowns in cali" and she wanted to take a trip to California, but she's too busy and has no relatives in California. She also wants to visit Koreatown in L.A., even despite the large Korean community where she lives. She just wants to be around a lot of Asian stuff it seems, and only Asian stuff.

How could you cure her suffering from lack of Japanese community and groceries in her area? She's hella depressed about it, kinda...

I had a friend in high school once who had a girlfriend who moved away. They still stayed connected though and he even went around our school, with a foam cup, asking people to give him money so he could buy a plane ticket to go see her.

You know what? It fucking worked! However when he got there it turned out that she had already gotten a new boyfriend, but forgot to tell him.

When I was 15 one of my best friends was Chinese, at this time I was more into anime than I am now.

So I'd show him some anime and he''d basically do the same thing, "Jap trash arrg"

I inquired as to why he felt this way, ignorant of the fact that China and Japan had been at war for centuries in the past, and most recently when Japan invaded China around WWII.

He told me around that time his family fled to Hong Kong, before eventually leaving Asia for America.

As he grew older he realized that hating Japanese people was pointless, he couldn't hate them all anyway, specially after meeting a good friend of his named Yoshi, that and the last samurai kind of changed his mind.
