I got my braces removed for today, and a strange thought occurred to me just now...
Who of you NG users are wearing braces, or had worn braces.

Used to. It kinda sucked, but I'm really glad I got them over with before high school.

I had to wear retainers to be every night for six months when I was 10 even though I did brush my teeth well. Something about new set of teeth growing in or something.

I have braces currently for my exaggerated overbite; I'll have them on for another year.
They also glued a little triangle to the back of one of my top teeth to prevent those teeth from hitting the bottom braces and it will be there until my teeth move enough to lessen the overbite. It was bothersome at first. It's positioned right where my tongue goes to pronounces S's, so I had a lisp for the first few days until I grew accustomed to it. Now, I've gotten used it, though it does make it trickier to suck cock, just saying.

It feels weird when you get them off. My teeth feel so smooth and look so bright. I hate to say this, but I miss my braces a little bit.

I had to wear mine for the first three weeks of high school. I'm going to have to wear a retainer for awhile, now.

I had started using braces at 12, so yes, it was. Being 14, not anymore.

I've been forewarned about that. Good thing you took care of that.

I have no idea what retainers will be like.

Acrylic piece that is molded and fits to the roof of your mouth with wire attached to keep your teeth in place.

Must be annoying at times
It depends on what kind of braces you have, how much they tighten them and what type of wire they're changing to. For me, it's not pain that Advil can't manage, though eating anything that isn't soft can be terrible.

My dentist kept telling me I should get them.
So I kept telling him I should get head.
Fuck him; My teeth are good enough to chew food and speak right with.
Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

Strange, I never had those rubber bands. I had those extra wires, and they were so much of a pain--definitely my least favorite part.

Ouch. That must have been really painful, no joke.

Braces are something that you get used to about 2 to 4 weeks after, depending on you. Sometimes when I went to my dentist, there would be just an examination, while at others, a whole new set of wires is added on. My teeth become really sore with new wires, so I can't eat a lot of anything. Nothing can help soothe that pain, either. It does get annoying.

The only reason I had for braces was to get my teeth aligned because it felt weird to have my teeth out of place. Braces aren't necessary, so it's all in your will.

Just have to get used to tasting acrylic in your mouth every night is all.

The first day I had braces, it felt like they stuck out 3 feet from my mouth. The day I got them off I could feel the indentation where the orthodontist ground away the cement off my teeth. But that was 10 years ago

Never had to get braces, I grew up with a growing overbite, which had naturally straightened out after my adult teeth came in. Fortunatly I was spared of having to get them.

The spacers...
Oh God, the spacers...
Disregarding that
I had them for two years. Frequently the brackets around my molars would come loose or one on my tooth would come undone due to eating wrong. I never needed rubber bands an my retainer was one of those clear plastic ones that go over your teeth like Invisalign's. The first thing I noticed was how much more space I had in my mouth after removal. that was a great feeling.
But now here I am about six years later and staring down my wisdom teeth and if I may need them removed or not. Seems so long ago, you know?

Wow, its been a minute since I had my braces removed let alone seeing others wearing one. It's damn good feeling to have all that wire, rubber, glue stuff and metal that's been a pain in your ass for 2-3 years removed I can pratically feel the old annoyances of braces as I type. However unless you gotta klutz for a othrodontist and he cuts your gums, but it was still worth it regardless and your teeth feel like theyre twice as big since your tongue was so use to hitting metal for a long time.

Got my wisdom tooth removed, then started having bracers. Got them 2 months ago. I'm quite particular about hygiene and I was getting afraid of getting decays if I don't do anything about the crowding.
