But eh, I'll bite. If 9/11 never happened, nothing would have happened, except Osama would have been alive and some odd 2000 people still alive. I don't know much about it. I never really cared anyhow.

I've mentioned this before, but it is my belief that 9/11 was the catalyst for a new era (in much the same way 1914 has been argued as the catalyst for the era of Total War).

Therefore if 9/11 had never happened the world would be very different. Terrorism would not be the major threat/and fear that it is today. Who knows, the Pax Americana might have fully developed and spread across the world.

However, it is still too early to tell. Who knows, in 10 years the world could be back to how it was before 9/11, with 9/11 being seen as a blip in history.

Despite the fact that the 2 events were NEVER related, the US would probably have been unable to justify and go through with the invasion / occupation of Iraq, so thousands more people would be alive and the Iraqi people would live in far better circumstances than they do right now. I doubt Bush would have been re-elected if he hadn't been a wartime president, the ridiculous "war on terror" would not have happened, and the NYC skyline would still have another landmark.

If 9/11 Never happend then the WTC would still be in the New York skyline, Afghanistan would be ruled by Taliban Lords, Iraq would be a less violent place still under the Reign of Saddam Hussein.. unless you're a Kurd. Then you'd probably have to fear for your life every day. Thats what those pro-Hussein people seem to overlook. Saddam was a great leader.. to the Shiiites. Every human being has a right to live in peace, Saddam liked to play religious favorites.

In a very fucked up way.. something good did come out of 9/11. It let the 'sleeping' people of this world wake up and realize that things are tough all over. I however. wish it wouldn't have happend.. so those 3.000 people could still be alive to love and care for their families.
