I read the links in your signature. I always felt that the way forward was rebuilding the towers as they were with more structural support. What better way to tell everyone we're back to normal than having them rise like a phoenix from the ashes, truly telling everyone "Yeah it may be creepy, but you can't break our spirit."

But if 9/11 didn't happen? i don't think we'd be poking our shit in the middle east like we are now. I can't predict the future, though, so any speculation is just that- speculation.

In my opinion, if the 9/11 never happened on September 11, there's a possibility that it will only delay the attack (probably 9/12, 11/15, or something like that), not prevent. Possible?

Most events like this one are innevitable. The favorite and most over-used situation imagined for this kind of "what if I we had a time machine" plot, is the Hitler case. What if we killed Hitler before the second world war? Well, it would have happenned anyway. Hitler didn't create the tense situation in Germany that preceeded the second world war. A lot of far right or far left political parties were getting a lot of votes back in those years because people didn't trusted in "moderate" politics, they needed a big change because things were getting out of hands. If it was not Hitler... it was someone else...

Same for 9/11 if you ask me. Radical islamists never really liked the United States, and something really had to happen sometime. If you prevented the event somehow, it wouldn't have changed anything about the humans behind the events. They would still want to hit the United States, and they would have... somehow... someway...
