So...yeah.
Let me explain: I want a new multiplayer FPS that won't cost me much and will last a while.
I have TF2, but I like to take breaks from it every once in a while.
Right now, the three big upcoming multi FPS games are BFBC3, which I won't buy because of Origin (and we shall not discuss this further in this thread), MW3, which costs a fortune and looks like a carbon copy of MW2, and RO2, which is fine price-wise , but I have some doubts about it.

I don't like the setting (yawn, WW2 again), I don't like the graphics and I'm not sure I'm going to like the gameplay (no crosshair, no health regen -and yes, I count that as a bad thing-, might be trying too hard to be realistic, taking away some of the fun)

So I ask you to tell me, if you've tried the closed Beta, what are your impressions and if you think that it's worth the price.
I just want it to be fun but not addictive or grindy, have variety and longevity.
Yeah I know, there's no pleasing me :P

I've been playing the beta and it's really good, it's not perfect since it's beta, but for what it has now it's extremely fun. The only problem is that it's really hard (realistic), look up gameplay videos of the beta on youtube. It's the most fun joining a full server of 64 people and having a realistic war going on. It has some lag issues which have been addressed apparently and should be fixed by release, otherwise they just updated it today and they fixed some issues, so the devs are definitely still active during the beta.

WWII shooters aren't very common these days, the only one I can think of that anybody's ever played is CoD WaW.

inb4 you posts dozens of game's that nobody's ever heard of.

You're really game-savvy, aren't you?You made the mistake of believing that the games YOU'VE played are the only games anyone's ever heard about.
Tell me with a straight face that theseare not popular games.
Many big franchises with many big titles millions of people have played.Don't tell me Call of Duty is the only one anybody's ever played.

The only thing in your post worth considering is that you said "these days".
It's true, there haven't been that many in the last year or two, but that's exactly because there was such an assload of them before and players started getting tired of them.

Now, about the game, it's this supposed "realism" thing that's making me wonder whether this game is for me.I like SOME realism, but not to the point where you have to consider the wind speed, or where to apply your bandage and all that.
That's okay for a campaign, but waaaay too much for a multiplayer game.
