4.09 / 5.00 15,161 ViewsHi there,
The last 3 days I watched some of the Shootorial videos on Kongregate (until nr. 5) and made my first small shooter game. After I stuck a bit on part 5 I created a new file and want to make everything on my own and watch the tutorial again from the beginning for better understanding.
But now I'm not sure about the art. I use Photoshop about ~2 years now, but only some photo manipulating and GFXing, not real drawing or working with vectors. I also have Illustrator, Flash (of course) and Corel Painter 11 and I own a Bamboo Graphic Tablet. But for flash games I need this cartoon graphics-style and I'm not sure about how to do that.
In case of the shooter game hand drawn images look kind of weird but if you only use the rectangle, line and ellipse tool you can't do everything and it's very slow too.
Could someone give me an advice about this or, what would be great, a small video where he or she makes a very simple character/object that he would use "like this" in a simple game.
Hopefully someone understands what I mean and could help me :)
PS: Sorry for my partly not so good English, but I'm German :D
Greetz,
Splatterfox
I'm not too sure what you're asking, but if it's animation related, you'd be better off asking in the flash portal. :)

Actually the flash forum is more geared towards programming, we have an animation forum for animation
In response to the op: I'd say flash is definitely your tool of choice when it comes to simple graphics for your game; I don't really understand what you are talking about with the boxes and the circles and stuff; but the brush tool serves its purpose in flash; especially if you have a bamboo. There really are no real shortcuts when it comes to making art; you'll have to just go in and do it yourself, getting better by doing it.
