Do you go in a relationship to make it socially acceptable?

I'm 16, almost 17 (I know it says 79 on my profile, i LIED) and I follow the rule "Half your age plus 7"

So the youngest I would every go is 15.

As for older, I would only go one year. So around 18. Anyone in between 15 and 18 is fair game.

What rule do you set, and what is your limit?

I'm 14 and a freshman in high school. I wouldn't date a middle schooler, but I would date a 13 year old high schooler. It's all about the experiences someone has gone through in life that make them mature, not necessarily just getting older.

Oh, and I wouldn't date someone who isn't mature. The ceiling for age is if she's in her 40's and isn't still hot then no.

Obviously it varies depending on social norms in a given society.

In this society, 18 is obviously the youngest someone 20 or older should have a romantic relationship with.

As for the range...considering that limitation above, I expect 17 years older than you and 17 years younger than you. Any older than that and one of you could have legally procreated the other with no provisions.

That is not to say that age range constitutes what is right or moral, mind you, I see your Harold and Maude relationship as having a wholesome potential, for instance, and think that many of our conceptions of what constitutes propriety in a relationship are deeply skewed.
