Do you guys in your own opinion believe that there is life after death? If so explain why, give at least a reason to back your points up. Wether it be re-incarnation or heaven and hell or whatever.
Discuss sensibly and non-troll-ingly. Also, inb4 dickheads.

There isn't. Because there is no evidence to suggest that there is an afterlife, and the primary reason people think one exists is because the thought of not existing is naturally terrifying.
Appreciate and enjoy the one life you're ever going to have. Don't waste it looking forward to something that's never going to happen.

Clearly can't read the inb4 part of my original post, nice attempt at being funny though.

I'm with you, but on the same token there's no evidence to suggest that there isn't one.

Well I don't agree you cannot prove there is no after live no one knows for sure. I believe there is I think there is some form of life like the spirit world no after life means no point to life.

Lol there's no life after death, the soul isn't a living entity, it's neither living nor dead, like a rock.
when we die, that rock goes somewhere and does something. That's as far as I've formed an opinion

I swear people cannot read. I said in your own opinion, which doesn't mean state something you believe as an official fact.

I didn't say it can't be proven, I said there's no evidence to suggest it. Different things.
no after life means no point to life.
It's the other way around. An afterlife, means there's no point to life. Why care about this life if there's a life of infinity waiting for you at the end of it? Like I said, this is the one life you're going to get, so accept it and enjoy it while you're here.

What would you accept as evidence of non-existence, if you don't accept non-existent evidence as evidence of non-existence?

i think there is.
i may not have facts to back it up,but im pretty sure that we just dont die and turn into skeletons, forever in our minds reliving our last moments. i say there is something beyond this realm, the ones alive just dont know it yet.

While I am religious, and believe in a mystic nature to the afterlife, I shall not elaborate on that point as I doubt you wish the conversation to be about the evidence of the Baha'i faith's validity and progressive revelation before it all the way up from Abraham, as that is extremely lengthy and likely to become a major religious debate.
Instead, consider the following from a purely scientific point of view:
Human beings experience time as a series of third-dimensional instants. Every instant we are experiencing what is happening at the moment, not the past or the future. Our experience of the past is in our present memory of what has happened, and our experience of the future is anticipation of things based on our memory of the past.
However, our linear perception of time in one sense is an illusion. Causality, i.e. cause and effect, dictates what has happened and what will happen in this contingent reality. If we were to view things fourth-dimensionally, past present and future are all simultaneous parts of a greater whole.
To put it in simpler terms, everything that has ever happened will always have happened, everything that ever will happen has, in one sense, already happened. Our "death", in one sense, is merely the end of our three-dimensional worldly perception of time, but not actually the end of our existence - in essence, everything that ever exists always will exist.
People who are unable to think in fourth-dimensional terms see the end of that three-dimensional experience as the "end" of one's existence, because those who are still "alive" at that point are trapped in the experience of a different part of time. I cannot look back and see the portion of time where my grandmother is alive in, for instance, because my perception is in the "present".

I never understand this dimensional bollocks
The fourth dimension is the passage of time, or the movement of energy throughout creation (they're synonymous) and the relationship between the changes in the world from instant to instant.
Okay so let's say you're looking at an apple on a tree, you're seeing it in three dimensions. You watch that apple fall, you're watching that in a series of three-dimensional instants, but you're aware of the fourth dimensional nature of it because you're aware of where the apple was and where it is likely to be. If you could see it fourth dimensionally, you wouldn't just see it in the one instant of where it is in the present, you would see it on the tree, on the ground, as a seed in the past, decayed into dust in the future...all simultaneous, unchanging, because all the change there ever was, has been, or will be is laid out in front of you.
It is only the limitation of our perception that creates the illusion of any differentiation. It's like viewing a photograph of reality instead of reality in-depth.

I believe there is no afterlife. The idea of a heaven and hell is childish to me. However there are obviously a crazy amount of things my human brain cannot comprehend about this universe, so who knows.

Starting Religious threads is a bit of a high risk maneuver. I don't really like the idea of Eternal Nothingness It's hard to get my head around.

This. It's sad how so many people waste their only life sitting in a room praying. Actually it's infuriating, mainly because it's the norm, and socially accepted.
