3.80 / 5.00 4,200 ViewsNow, I've been around for a few years and am in no way looking to get married now. However, I have a friend who is the same age as me (21) and just got engaged. I started to think, how young is too young? I'm sure to most of you people 21 is old, but we're still in college. I still have the rest of my life to figure out. I think getting married at this age is a terrible idea.
I guess to them it doesn't matter because they're in love with each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together, but still. It seems to me like they're rushing into it. My parents didn't get married till they were almost 30, and I figured like 28ish was customary. I guess it's just weird for me that my friends are getting hitched and I'm still schooling.
So what do you guys think? How young is too young to get married?
It really depends on the individual, you can't put a specific age on it, but I'd say you're "too young" to get married if neither of you have fairly stable jobs and realistic plans for the future. I'm 24 and have no intention of getting married, and yet I see people I went to school with online and they're married now with two kids, it's mind-blowing.
Its only rape if you say no.
Say no to rape.

The same age of consent of a Yemeni girl.
Emphasis are great!
i want to be married and have a family before i turn 30, but wether or not that happens is up to the universe.
haha cheesey but true
i dont want to be 50 something with my kids just out of highschool like my parents.
Better for girls to Marry young, Not too young maybe around 20-25
Now this is marriage we're talking about, not children ;)
For guys? Hmmm... whenever they finish college I guess.
NEED A VOICE ACTOR?! YOU GOT ONE RIGHT HERE SWEETIE ;)
Well most of my cousins and other people who I'm somehow related have been married around ages of 20-28. It pretty much depends on what country you live at and what kind of culture it has. Also how far you're going with your studies. I think that 18 and 22 are bit too young for marriage, but it depends how long time the person have been a couple.

Depends. If you are ready and mature enough for it, then you are good to go.

Pardon me for this, but a "wether" is a castrated male ram.

Well it really depends whether the people are ready , usually people get married around the age of 25-30 when they are ready and will be able to support themselves . Some people get married as soon as they fall in love and it usually falls apart
Personally I am not for marriage and I think it's becoming an out-dated tradition but if it makes people happy and they lead decent lives I'm all for it
Newborn is pretty young for marrige, but I wouldn't want a 14 year old to get married either.

Thinking about it, I probably wouldn't want to get married until I was in my 30's or possibly late 20's. I guess that it really just depends on when you find the right person.

I would say never, getting married is like signing a contract with the Devil imo.
Getting married and starting a family is probably best to be done in your mid to late 20s, maybe even early 30s if you're still ambitious enough.
This cunt that goes to my school is 16. She's "engaged" to her boyfriend of one month and he's 18.
She went on to say she wants to get pregnant this year so she can slim down before prom next year...

My parents got married at 21. They enjoyed like 7 years of marriage before having kids.
While they were married my dad when through school, when he was done my mom went through school.
Everything worked out fine.
Getting married actually helped them a lot with financial benefits and what not.

I think anything younger than 26 or 25 is too young.

Actually that brings up a very interesting point. Most people think that getting married is synonymous with having kids. But like you said, a couple can get married at a young age and then just not have kids for a very long time. I feel like having kids is what puts a big strain on a marriage. Of course there's the initial love and adoration of the child, but of course that wears off when it's screaming and crying all the time.
But as I was saying, I don't think it's an awful idea to maybe get married at a younger age and then try to test the waters for a few years before having kids. I'd say it's a good way to decide if you are really cut out for the parenting and living together for the rest of your lives.
For me, I wouldn't mind getting married after age 23. But I would like to start a family before age 30.

Well the way I see it the first 30 years of your life are for living. And anything that happens after that, is marriage.
Well i guess the age for marriage would be 21-30. Of course, you'd have to be sure that she's the right girl and that you love her, in order to have a happy and good marriage.
Right out of high school, 18-19, is way too young to be getting married. You have no life experience, no real chance at a stable job, and people change. I was not the same person at 22 I was at 18. I'm sure this is why a lot of couples who marry at this age get divorced. In terms of life experience, maturity and financial stability, I'd say 25+.
Ages five and over, may contain small pieces.
