I was told that Audacity can modify the voices, but it turns out to be only changing the pitch and make it loud or high..
I heard FL Studio is a great software - but is there a way I can use it to modify a voice by changing many other parameters other than just the pitch, and have a much wider range of other voices to obtain ?
Ty ;)
Explain 'modify'. Change the pitch? Change the speed?

Last I checked Audacity has a bunch of built in effects with which you can play with to change your voice. The same can be said for FL Studio and most other DAWs.

Well since you can import sounds into FL or Audacity, you could use each of them for what they do better, i mean if you don't think you could learn to do it in the respective program all by itself
I suppose I didn't do the proper researches, because all I get when I google/youtube "Edit vocals with audacity" (or similar researches) are videos of people clicking on "Change Pitch" effect.
What other "built-in effect" were you thinking about ? I've been playing around with all of them, but unless I did it wrong, I just couldn't manage to get another voice but still a "human voice" or almost.

IMO, the pitch/stretch algorithm in FL sounds much nicer than in audacity, and can be done in a much shorter amount of time. The fruityloops demo doesn't let you save project files, but if all you want to use it for is editing, you can still export mp3s and save your work that way.
I do remember FL having a vocal processor at one time, with it you could do some crazy pitch based modulations with your voice for crazy effects. Besides that there's a vocoder, for mixing your voice with an instrument or just about anything. There's the fruity granulizer for when you want to be experimental, or just plain mental with your sounds. It also has all the reverb EQ and compression effects you will need, and trust me you will need them. There's also free plugins you can download and use like Gsnap for an autotune like sound, or bitspeek to make your voice sound like a speak 'n spell, etc..
There's not much FL can do nicely.

I think what he might be after is formant shifting and not pitch shifting, which I don't think you can do in Audacity.
