Somewhere near the middle of season four probably. Once the show took the focus off family problems and became a twenty-two minute joke factory, struggling in making characters even two dimensional in personality, that is when they jumped the shark.

I second this
Make mistakes, so you don't learn from them.

Everyone reaches this point in a show.
For me however, it was when Stewie went from an intellectual devious asshole who was hellbent on killing his mother (lois) to a straight on homosexual.

Not so much noobs as little kids who stumbled upon adult swim after watching cartoon network late one night.

Kind of like daniel tosh.
After the first few seasons, first three or four maybe? Some of the ones above had good episodes I suppose too.
I suppose I'm in the minority when I say that the old episodes of Family Guy were not very funny at all and the newer episodes were and still are quite funny.
But then again, it's quite easy to make me laugh, so Family Guy still appears to be funny to me despite incurring the dislike of many fans of the show because they perceive it to be unoriginal and offensive in a desperate attempt to be funny.

Because back then he was so lovable. Now he's just jerk.
That's one of the problems I'm getting at. It wasn't just Peter either, I mean remember Lois? She wasn't like that initially but now she's basically the female version of her father.
Brian's characterization change is the worst.
If the early seasons Brian had know what he would become, he'd kill himself.
I caught a few of the new episodes of Family Guy a few nights ago. I was never a huge fan but it's lost it's hilarity. Mind you, the animation they're using now is quite impressive sometimes.
There's nothing wrong with an animation being offensive, but only when it's a by-product of a joke.
although oddly enough, american dad started become more hilirious too me while family guy was going downhill
its like they experiment jokes on one show but put the good ones on another.

I would DESTROY Mila Kunis though.
I think it was when Stewie Became gay.

Family Guy is alright but after the 9001th flashback and "LOL SO RANDUM XD" joke it starts to get stale.
Old episodes of The Simpsons, and all Futurama are considerably better.
At first, Peter was actually a guy who had a conscience, and was just dim, now he's a retard who doesn't care about anything.
I agree, I mean I've seen a slow decline but I still enjoyed watching the show. It was really the last season where I was like wow this is just nothing but anti-humor (something so obscene or offensive that it's supposed to derive a shock laugh) and I really just haven't had the desire to check the show out since
Mushroomn. 6 years later it's kind of a dumbass name. Sorry about that
Peter = Misogynist Retard
Lois = Hardworking Housewife
Brian = Voice of Reason
Meg = Teenage Girl
Chris = Teenage Boy
Stewie = Evil Mastermind
Peter = Retard
Lois = Space Occupier
Brain = Liberal Douche
Meg = Punching Bag
Chris = Retard
Stewie = Gay
