Watching TV/movies alone? 2011-08-30 00:49:37 Reply

Anyone else prefer it?

Whenever one of my favorite shows is on and as I am watching someone comes up and says "Hey, I like this show, can I watch with you?"

I always want to respond with, "You don't like it as much as me, you wont appreciate it as much as me, you are ruining this for me, I do not want to share this program with you. Go away."

I don't know, I think its something to do with me thinking I have to sustain conversation with people during it, and that detracts my attention from, even if just slightly, enough to make me think I am missing something.

I find it more true with T.V. shows then with movies.

In summation: I like watching TV/Movies alone.

I watch most of my films and stuff alone. I have a friend who I used to watch films with but I moved away. And I have another friend who I did the same with but he moved away from here. They are/were the only two people I could watch films with, because almost everyone I know has a very short attention span and doesn't want to watch the stuff I like.

I guess it's all about preference. I like to watch TV/movies with friends and my older sisters. It's always funnier when we do this talk random shit about the program/movie.

I only dislike it when they try to talk during the program. I don't mind them watching it with me if they shut up, though.

I usually watch TV shows alone, more specifically OZ.
Because that's a show I need to pay full attention to.

When my chick is over, we'll watch movies I have seen before, so I'm not missing anything and I can still pay 80% of my attention to her.

I hate it when people try to engage me in conversation while I'm watching a TV show or a movie that I'm actually interested in. However, when I watch comedies alone I rarely laugh, even if it's funny to me, but when I watch it with a group of people I find that I actually laugh. So in that sense I do enjoy watching TV and movies with other people.

I like sharing laughs and scares and conversing about something that just happened.
I think its alot more fun to watch things with friends.

I watche most TV shows and movies on my laptop. So I'm generally alone when watching them.
I don't really mind if someone else is watching TV with me when I watch TV though.
I wouldn't go to a movie theatre alone though.

I often do go to the cinema alone, but that's just because none of my friends live nearby so I couldn't take them anyway. When I'm in their area I do like to bring them along though. I like discussing the film with them afterwards and, in case of a comedy, I always seem to get some more laughs out of it than when I'm sitting there alone.

At home I often watch films with my gf. She doesn't always pay that much attention to it, but I don't find it that distracting if she's doing something else during the film.

I was at the new movie 'Fright Night' (awesome movie) and I was with an chick. Believe me when I say that no matter how hot she was I prefer to watch it alone, I mean she asked a ton of questions about the movie: who is this, who is that. It got me very distracted from the movie.

I don't mind some people watching with me. Just don't like people who talk through every second of the fucking movie asking what's going on.

I despise watching movies by myself, I feel as if it's a waste of time unless I can simultaneously bond with someone.

As for tv shows and anime, I prefer to watch it alone because I feel like i'll get more out of it without distractions.

I'm weird like that. haha

No, I don't prefer it. If anything, I prefer the opposite.
