Confucianism is an ancient Chinese religion named after the well-known philosopher, Confucius, who added his own philosophy and moral values leading to sound behavior.

Confucianism does not believe in the hereafter, paradise or hell, nor do the followers believe in resurrection. Confucianists were, for the most part, concerned with improving their life affairs with no concern of the true destination of the spirit after it leaves the body of the deceased. One of the disciples once asked Confucius about death, Confucius answered concisely: "We haven't yet finished studying life to delve into the question of death."

Rules go as follows and are generaly the same as any other club on NG.
1. Anyone can join, as long as you're actualy interested in Confucianism.
2. To join, just ask to join and state if your interested.
3. No flaming.
4. Don't spam/dont feed the spammers.
5. Try not to be a tit.

So If you are interested in the teachings of Confucianism or simply need a word of advice that can be answered by these teachings, pull up a mat and take a seat.

Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses.

This quote explains my recent situation, I got a garbage whistle due to the hacking of Canas and almost left Newgrounds because of the injuries and brought sadness to alot of people, because they would miss my kindnesses, the quote helped me to accept the situation and to be there for my Newgrounds friends.

Ahh yes. I recall. So If we cant forget our injuries caused by others, we can find it hard to be kind to others. So we would not want that with you now would we, seeing as how your the kindest user many of us have met.

I assumed this thread was going to be narcissism on your part, and I'm glad it isn't. However, I am unsure of how popular this club will be. That isn't a dig at it's aims or purpose, I just think that the amount of NG users interested in this will be pretty low. Despite that, I'm curious to see where this goes, and I'll be sure to come in sometime.

I would not create a thread about me.

Funny as it is, I find more comfort in trying to understand the teachings of Confucius than any of this computer abbreviations and why people do this.

Confucius says: Learn how to take a joke and your life will be much more enjoyable

That point is true.
He also says: Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.

I'm struggling to see the relevance of that quotation, if you're referring to the joke I made then you're wrong, as I do 'desire' people to look at things lightly.

Yes. Im gay myself.
Homosexuality is not listed in the Analects of Confucius as a sin.
"Biting the bitter peel", a euphemism for homosexual relations, generally taken to mean anal sex, is mentioned as having been practiced by several individuals in the Classic of History as well as the Spring and Autumn Annals.

I particularily respect the teaching of the Gentleman "the perfect man is one who combines the qualities of saint, scholar, and gentleman."

They were to:
cultivate themselves morally;
show filial piety and loyalty where these are due;
cultivate humanity, or benevolence.

I love how the Eastern World makes religions that express freedom, spirituality and humanism. Whilst the Western World created religions expressing control, hatred and greed. Kind of shows the capitalism and obsession with power that the "Developed World" has.

I never once imagined a thread like this would ever exist.

But I was always under the impression that confucianism was more of a philosophy or a way of living then a religion.
