Hello my fellow newgrounders,

please note before reading this shit, I'm Dutch, so spelling and grammar may be off.

After a quick examination of the rules here I'm still not quite sure if I need to post this here, or somewhere else. Especially since threads in the General forum have a life span of aprox. 7 minutes or less, so here goes:
For the people that actually use any kind of drawing program or animating program, and are using a mouse to do this: Which mouse are you using?

Here's some context: A few months earlier I bought a mouse. Turns out it pretty much was a piece of excrement, the case being that when using it to draw or animate stuff I got these terrible cramps, PLUS the mouse is too accurate, so I can't always make these smooth lines with it. (and yes I've tried every kind of percentage of smoothness with Flash to test it, only resulting in me being dissapointed for the 1,000,000th time since birth)

To the smartasses that are about to say: "BUY A WACOM". Believe me I thought about it, but like 90% on this planet I can't afford it. Another thing is I like using a mouse. SO FUCK THAT SHIT.

Please Newgrounds, do me a solid.

90% of the first world(let's not include the whole damn planet here) can probably afford a 70 dollar tablet?

Wow.

Sorry: ment to say: DECENT wacom tablet. Yeah you got your Bamboo tablet, but that's like playing football with a rubber ball you bought at Terry's Sheets and Things. It's do-able but.. meh..

Mouse are not meant to be used to draw. Tablets work better, online shopping is weird, what with the bidding I can't tell what the cost is, or even where the "buy now" button is. Go to a local store, I got mine for $30.

I'm just a dreamer.

Coming from someone drawing with a mouse. That's like playing football with a fucking dinky car.

Guess I'm the minority here, I'm not bad at creating shit with a mouse I just need to find a right one. So, why don't we all just stop digressing and get on with actually helping me here, I would appreciate it.

Two questions:
1. What was the piece of excrement mouse you used?
2. What programs do you usually use?

1. Trust MI-6970C Laser Mouse (w/ 2 dpi options)
2. Flash 8 Pro and Adobe Photoshop CS5 are the most frequently used

Maybe you're not bad, but you'd be better with a bamboo tablet. But whatever, I won't try to convince you any longer.

Thing is though, I actually have a bamboo tablet. It just doesn't feel like how I want it to feel. Coincidentally having the same problem with the mouse right now but I had other mice (is that the correct plural?) before this one, so I know it can be done.

if it makes you feel any better I probably will buy a tablet someday, EVENTUALLY

Seriously, Bamboo tablets are so much better than drawing with a mouse, and it's really not as bad as you're making out, it's not amazing, but it's good for it's price and a starter tablet.

First off I would highly suggest you buy a wireless mouse, they are so much more convenient (I have a Microsoft 4000 and it works fine). If you're having sensitivity problems, have you tried turning down the pointer movement speed when animating/drawing? That is really all the pointers I can give you.

Tablets aren't that different from mouses.. Whats the difference? Its a pen on a pad, like a mouse on a mouse pad, NO DIFFERENCE.

Thank you a hell of a lot. I will look into the wireless mouse stuff. Probably going for one that doesn't have these sensitivity options so I can just fuck around with it on the notebook itself.

Regarding the wacom tablet issue: I have been using the bamboo tablet. Infact I bought it three years ago. If I were to finally make some goddamn money I would buy a new tablet (Intuos) but for now, especially with the EU50 I have, a mouse seems like the good thing to do.
