The sad truth for some is, the music industry is changing.
Look around and you'll see that electro and dubstep is taking over, leaving no room for the classic but dying genre of Hands Up.
Don't get me wrong! I'm a huge fan of Dubstep and stuff, but an even bigger fan of hands-Up because it has a much bigger story with me.
Hands-Up and NG's Dance was the reason I started with music production, it was what first inspired me ya know? Listening to Envy's ''heaven Rd. 2'' and B0UNC3's ''Paradise on E'' was what got me hooked and from then on I couldn't help myself into the dance scene.
Most people who read this will Simpy dismiss it and tell me that times have changed and I need to get over it, but I'm sure there's many people who still like dance and hands-up, and might relate to what I'm saying.
Well Dan Roth and Alyx have formed a partnership in aid of this dying genre, to give the people who miss that old-style, what they still want.
For the many people who do not know, we are two equally enthusiastic Hands Up producers from Great Britain who have worked with music (and together) for years.
With me (Dan) on the melodic, graphic & management side and Alyx on the composition, mixing and development side, we hope to deliver some of the 'phreshest' hands-up to those who still want it!
If we have your support, check us out on youtube
After all, how many active Hands-Up producers do you know? Probably be able to count that number on one hand...
head on over to the official channel at:
Peace and Bass,
Dan Roth <33
First track is in production, not long now.

Handsup died when Rob Mayth stopped producing under that name.
Azora just doesn't cut it anymore.

What the hell is "Hands Up"?
Also, I know you tried real hard to make it not look like one, but this is an advertisement ("Check us out, show us support, because our genres dying and stuff"), and it belongs in the appropriate thread.

not enough innovation and new production techniques by the main artists imo.
There probably will eventually will be a call back to classic dance and hands up

Well, I hope that's not supposed to be a prime example, because if it is, I'm not surprised it's dying. That was the most boring, generic electronic song I've ever heard.

I wish you goodluck, but handsup is way beyond rescue at the moment. You'd probably have to wait it out.

So 1 artist makes the entire genre? That's incredibly narrowminded sir.

That track is from 05-06 so it was highly innovative for the time.
This was before the abundant availability of HQ samplepacks and romplers such as nexus.
But that's actually one of the more cheesy examples he could have showed you.
You call THAT generic? You really should stay away from the dance section in the AP then :P

Am I the only one who sees this as blatant advertising?
Genres' popularity comes and goes, times change (indeed). However, it's not because it isn't popular that people don't make it any more; look far enough and you'll find it.
Anyway here go audio advertisements.

Totally agree. I'd just call that mainstream dance music.. it's probably because of these mainstream dance artists that the genre has died out anyways. Like you said, the most boring and generic song you've ever heard. These artists gave it a bad name..

Don't worry it'll make a comeback. Once dubstep gets boring people will go back to other stuff.

Every hands up song I've listened to sounds like it was made exclusively with Nexus. Then again most dubstep sounds like it was made with Massive so meh...

Yeah, all the recent shit is amateurish as hell. The stuff made before nexus was much better.
I imagine dubstep was also better before everyone started using the same things.
What kills music isn't really the availability of tools, it's the lack of innovation. People get more lazy the more they get spoonfed.

It's just an extra 'clubified' version of Dance, with cheesy synths and vocals. Sped up and all that jazz, I used to make it when I first started futzing around with techno.
I'm up for it, just don't expect me to be overly enthusiastic about it.
