The best dimensions for animations

What dimensions are best for animations? I have few preferences myself but I'm not sure what is best. The one's I use are generally 550 px by 400 px, 640 px by 400 px, and 712 px by 400 px.

Look at the newgrounds game and movie standards

The bigger the better. You can add more detail. You can always resize it later. And since flash is vector based, it won't look like crap.

I would always go for 16:9.
I usually use 800 x 450 because it's pretty big, but not too big.

600 x 360
720 x 405
800 x 450

These are good.

I usually animate in 848x480. It comes in handy for fitting in the Newgrounds screen size limit and is pretty easy to up scale to HD (1280x720/ 1920x1080)
