Hi there guys, Klokinator here. I'm a developer from the Rpg Rpg Revolution forums and I'm making a game called Fire Emblem Phoenix Saga. I've been working on the concept for about 8 months now and I've even got some good beta chapters working. I've got a whole team ready and we're looking for pretty much one thing, a musician.

But first some history on this game. If you've ever played the Fire Emblem games, you already know they're a Turn Based Strategy game with heavy RPG elements involved. In the first american release, you play as Lyndis, who is on a quest to see her grandfather, the king of Sacae (Maybe lord, I don't recall) before he dies. She learns that her uncle Lundgren is poisoning the king and trying to kill him to take over the throne. (The bastard!)

The next segment of the game is played from the perspective of Eliwood, young lord of Pherae, who is on a quest to save his... father... (Sounds familiar) Eventually the game branches off into a dozen sidestories and a good main plot that is very compelling. The characters all have great personalities and the game feels more like a piece of history than just a game.

Unfortunately, Intelligent Systems (The original creators of Fire Emblem) have not been doing justice with many of their latest Fire Emblem games. FE9 had a really amazing story and was extremely fun. FE10 had a terrible story but at least was still fun gameplay-wise. After that, they've stuck to remakes of old NES games for the last 2 or 3 years and it's getting a bit old.

This developer named BwdYeti decided to take matters into his own hands and recreate the Fire Emblem game system from the ground up in RPG Maker XP, then release it as a fangame kit for people to make their own games with. I first heard about this 8 months ago, so when he released it publically I was ready for action :) (I had some prior experience with using the kit anyway but that's another story)

I won't bother with things like storyline or whatnot, you can read about it in my release topic at RRR. What I need from Newgrounds members is a musician, maybe two, who know how to write good classical music at my request for specific scenes.

I have asked Shadow6nothing9 for his permission to use several of his songs, like The Fallen, Ghost Storm, and Mystical Forest.

There is also soulblud who has written some songs I will be using as well.

I also plan to use a couple of MaestroRage's songs, though I don't think I have asked him yet. They are in my plans though, as I would hate people stealing from me just as much as me stealing from other people. For example there is Apocalypse, Rage of the Champions, and Day of War.

The above music should give you some idea of the themes I am going for. I will not be selling this game for any money at all (It is based on a copyrighted franchise and is made with a copyrighted engine) so the only reason I am making this game is to expand my creative horizons. I can't offer you money, unless you are extremely unbelieveably good at what you do, and even then I'm a poor man and can't offer much. However, you will get your track in my game, and hopefully FEPS will reach enough popularity to where you'll be able to get your music recognized.

Thank you for reading, I look forward to any help I can get. Also, if you are a big time Fire Emblem lover, you may be intereted in reading one of my older FE Game Idea blogs. Enjoy!

Aren't you suppose to have a Battling Average of 3.5?? I love the Fire Emblem series seems interesting, how long will it take to make this game??

I... have no idea what a battling average is sorry bro. As for time, it'll take about 6-8 months if I get a steady team going, but some of my team members have college, some have school, I have work, so it could vary. In addition, the first making of the game will allow me to learn RGSS, while the second part (Me remaking the whole thing) will be a refining of every core detail of it.

I currently have a professional mapper guy named Primefusion (Making his own hack, btw) myself on eventing, story, dialogue, general light script editing, three people on animations, one guy for making the mugs, and overall the only thing we need now is a musician. Well, there is room for someone to do Dramatic CG's (Like showing a dramatic picture of a character dying) especially since this is not going to be some happy happy game, and it focuses on very dark themes, like murder, betrayal, and sorrow.

Batting Average is the average Newgrounds score of your top 3 rated submissions. Since you have 0 submissions you have a 0 BA.
It is a rule to have at least a BA of 3.5 for hosting collaborations on Newgrounds. But I don't think this counts, since you're just looking for a musician. So you can just put that out of your mind ;)

Sadly I'm not a musician, but I'm a huge fan of the Fire Emblem series, and I really look forward to seeing how this turns out! Good luck to you!

Okay thanks for the clarification bro. Yeah I don't have anything to submit, though I did ask a mod (Bahamut) where to post this topic and he said to post it here. I have only ever made one flash video on an old NG account (4 years ago, and it looks like it was purged) called "Trial of a thousand Despairs" but I don't know if it still exists.

I am a huge fan of the Fire Emblem games and I am personally tired of seeing horrible horrible fangames get made with hacking utilities and even the new FEXP engine will prolly take a long time before people get used to it. Therefore, I want to set the bar very high!

Also, how do you edit posts/topics on this forum? It seems to be running ancient forum software that lacks even the bare minimum for functions.

Newgrounds has had some kind of long time stance against editing posts. I guess the worry is that people would abuse it and just use it to cause problems.
ie. Make a normal post then change it to something offensive after people start commenting

Pfahahaha that is the stupidest prank I have ever heard of XD Way2fail noobs. But for the rest of us legit posters, it kinda sucks when someone like me wants to add details to our posts, like more recruiting info or a blurb for our favorite porn site.

But I digress, back to the OP. Anyone available to make music?

I'd be willing to write some custom music for you - just let me know what you need.

Sounds cool. Just listened to what audio you have and you sound pretty good. If you heard the sample tracks above, I'm in need of that style. Right now I have a lot of excellent tracks to choos from for dramatic scenes, sad scenes, and dark scenes, but what I could really use are some good looping tracks for general while-you-travel-around overworld music. Let me give you some sample tracks from the Fire Emblem games, since I dunno if you play them at all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl0MCH2Dh SA&feature=related (This is the main overworld song for many FE games.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ci98Op9UM U0&feature=related (Slightly darker scene, used for when a village is being raided and you have to protect it)

In addition, I could use a remix of this simple sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbkLkiOUC Q4&feature=channel_video_title It plays before every chapter, and I need something just like it that quickly builds up to the chapter title reveal, then fades off afterwards.
^For another example... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TzaYytGx 5Y (Skip to 8:18)

Thanks man, much appreciated.

Alright, so you said you wanted a remix of that one chapter start thing - would you like the overworld travelling music to be remixes of Fire Emblem music as well, or would you rather have original music written in the same style?

I'll remake the chapter start sound for you and send it as soon as I can - could you give me your email address, because if you're going to want looping music, you'll need it in wav format, and you can't upload wav files to Newgrounds.

Thanks for letting me contribute to the project!

My team and I all use dropbox. If you're willing, you could get on our IRC and we could further discuss this there :)

And choose whatever Nick you like. I want to basically see what you can do, and if you want to redo the songs in the classical format while sticking to the original melody, that would be very cool. But yeah, IRC please.

Gah, sorry for double post, I hate that bumping crap as much as the next guy but being unable to edit my old post sucks.

Anyway, we currently have recruited Soulblud, Conorstrjshdfiyuguwtfever, and Jvonm for music in FEPS. If anyone else wishes to join this project, I ould still appreciate it. Currently a battle music composer skilled in classical themed songs would be invaluable.

In addition, I personally could use a person skilled in making Art CG stills. It's for the FEPS project as well, and if you've ever played Fire Emblem you might even be familiar with the general style.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dpj7gveJt 6E
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIpUb7Vct B4

They are generally used to convey important scenes, and if you are skilled in something similar (Very skilled) I am personally willing to even recompensate you for your aid. I'd say $6 per requested still maybe. We could work something out anyway, so if you're interested, feel free to let me know via PM or whatever.
