I've done both. The books are interesting but the movie is retarded.

I FUCKING LOVE A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS.
Read all the books and saw the movie.
In a nutshell.
Books are great. Movie is just 'meh'.
Those were my favorite books from my childhood, they were all great especially the end.
I read the first few, but then my reading interests changed and I was reading actual, you know, literature.
I thought the movie adaption did it a good service. It was obvious that the director himself liked the books, and they tried quite a bit to turn the books into something, well, watchable.
The movie isn't that good cuz it has a little bit of funny parts, and book just have sadnesse and a minimum bits of funnyness (lol)
But jim carrey is very good being count olaf
jim carry was good in the movie other than that naaaah

My mind was blown.
I've seen the movie. I think I liked it.
I liked the movie but it was so long since I watched it and I barely remember it, so I'm not sure if I'd still like it.

Well he was the movie, as he had many roles.
The books are fantastic. My favourite seires after Harry Potter. I loved how it all tied together and the ending was awesome. Shame the film didn't really live up to that standard. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't right either.
Read the books and seen the movie, I prefer the books.

Great series up until the last book, which left me thoroughly disappointed.
I read the first book and the last book. I don't remember what happened, but I do recall something like a concentration camp in the last book. That's what it seemed like anyway.
Didn't see the movie, but I've read most of the books. They were okay... I can't remember them being anything special.
Aren't those books for like, 12 year olds?
just roll with it nerd
I read the first one, and I was hooked, I actually still own the set, I haven't read one in a couple months, but I might read one now.
Meh.

Maybe. But why should 12 years old just get all the fun of reading about Count Olaf ogling the underaged Violet Baudelaire?
I read the books in 4th grade.
I heard the movie was garbage and never watched it.

yeah...
but everything for twelve year olds is better XD
...okay, not everything. actually, the new generation of media is actually pretty shitty for the most part.
and I've never read these books so I wouldn't know if they have any quality.
the movie was fairly amusing though.
I wish he would had married the little girl at the end though.
how fucking surprised would everyone had been if it ended and everyone was miserable.
sometimes, I like it when movies end on a downer.
I'll probably never read the books... I have so much shit to read/watch/play that it's insane.
Books = Fantastic.
Movie = Not so much, but still enjoyable.

The books are a nice change in pace for children cause they're so dark. I remember reading them in 4th grade and being like holy shit death!
Mushroomn. 6 years later it's kind of a dumbass name. Sorry about that
I read all the books and enjoyed them, then watched the movie which I hated.
