So, the new planet of the apes... 2011-08-14 23:06:46 Reply

I thought it was actually really good. I'm a fan of the originals (minus the Tim Burton one), and this one might just be the best in the series. The storytelling was superb, and the acting by both the humans and the apes was provoking. much more emotional than the originals (thanks to CGI and the great Andy Serkis). I would def recommend seeing this and putting it on the top of your movie list this summer.

Also the end almost disappoints but makes up for it with solid closure. I hate movies that leave you with questions about plot and shit. When you see it you'll know what I'm talking about.

I just saw it yesterday. Great film. Probably the best since the original.

Ya, that was dumb. Just confusing for the sake of being confusing.

The nods were good and plenty, it was fun picking them out. There was so many that I didn't even catch too.

A lot of people on newgrounds were doubting this movie, simply because it was a revival of a classic. Even though classics are great, there are talented enough people to successfully revive those classics. This is just case and point.

I thought it was great, too. (Spoilers) The ending felt pretty abrupt, but I guess it makes sense. About half way through it showed a news article about the shuttle launching for the mars mission, and at the end the pilot has the disease and it's implied that he spreads it, so they set us up perfectly for the first movie. I guess it wouldn't make sense if you don't know the plot of the first, though.

But yeah, I loved it.

Everybody kept saying the trailers made the movie look horrible. I never understood why. It looked pretty cool to me.

Yes! The way they set up the original was fantastic. ~~~~spoiler~~~~ when the apes enter the woods and it cut to the credits I was sooo disapointed, then it cuts to the pilot and it provides closure as to what happens. I got pretty pissed for a minute about the end lol

The first was fairly dull because it didn't really have any action.

Well in fact the ramake was the, with the first original the best one, all the old ones besides the first one were really, really shitty, literally i saw the first 5 minutes of the 4 and turned it off.
i like syfy, but after watching the trailer of the next POTA movie i decided not to watch it, it seems shitty plus we all already know how its gonna end

Its only rape if you say no.

And Tim Burton stole that from a Jay and Silent Bob comic book.

Nonsense. Anybody who knows Tim Burton knows that he would never read a comic book, and he would especially never read anything by Kevin Smith.

That's the reason his Batman movies suck.
