Today I just found out about a new bill called Bill S.978 that-if it is passed-make it a FELONY to post music, TV/movie footage, and video game footage (basically all copyrighted media) on the Internet! (Mainly Youtube) That means that all "Let's Plays", abridged series, and "Youtube Poops" will be deleted and never be made again! WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING???!!! Are they trying to get the president assassinated or something? Although this bill is in VERY early stages, it has been like that for a month, but If this goes through the Internet will collapse, and would blow cock. We gotta do something!

I don't agree with the aims that the bill intends to achieve, but seriously, people like you need to relax and realize that this content is copyrighted and should be afforded some level of protection, albeit not as strong as the one afforded by Bill s.978.

This bill only applies to the game companies that care to have them removed. If the companies wanted, they could have the videos removed already, but they don't. Why? Because it's a source of revenue for them. Say someone watches a let's play of, say, Mirror's Edge. The person could like the gameplay, want the game, and go buy it. The companies like this, and thus, they keep the videos up. So, their videos will stay up as long as the companies say it's okay.

A thread has been made about it ages ago, along with several petition sites, also, because the bill is in it's early stages it still has lots of revisions to go through, the U.S. legal system has a habit of mutilating bills beyond recognition.
